Good return. I liked Mangiapane, but this is great for us.

    Goodbye my sweet bready boy

But insane how Conny managed to trade him for a 2nd Round Pick. Thought we’d get a 3rd or 4th at best

  3. KinGaH32

was on the decline, i’m good with the return

  4. 2pointsonice

The best part is no retention on a 6 mill contract. Conroy getting rid of all of BT stuff

  5. etherealexperience

Offloading that contract is a win.

  6. Ansabch1

No retention on a near $6 mil contract and getting a nice asset 🔥🔥🔥

  7. Actual_Cobbler_6334

I guess the Flames are going gluten-free now.

Thank fucking Christ. Highway robbery getting a 2nd for that guy.

Honestly magical work from Conny on this one. Major props to him. I thought Mang had like negative value at this point.

I wasn’t expecting that. He always seemed to thrive when he was on a line with Monahan or Gaudreau, and his production took a noticable dip these last two years without those two linemates

I will definitely be cheering for him wherever he plays though. Praise Bread Man

No retention on a massive (5.8M) under performer the last 2 seasons and a 2nd in return? AWESOME GMCC LET HIM COOK.

Now there’s a perfect slot for Pelts with Backlund and Coleman to learn and develop under. I love this move

    Solid work.

Both sides seemed to want a change too. If it turns out we are signing debrusk as well it doesn’t seem like a big loss for Calgary either. A wash in terms of production, but we get the added bonus of having another pick.

No more bread copy pasta, what wild times

Will miss him, he was a solid soldier and amazing value for a 6th round pick.

Terrific return by Conroy, thought he would have to wait until the deadline and a slight rebound for Mangiapane to fetch a 2nd rounder. Nope, he got a quality draft pick and killed the winger logjam all in one fell swoop.

    Well done 👏

  15. LatinoBanana

So this is how they’ll explain it to us when they sign debrusk

  16. etherealexperience

It’s a great move but I will miss bread we had some good moments together. Even back when our fourth line was Mang, Hathaway, Ryan miss that line.

  17. GrafNebelgeist

Gonna miss Bread, but it’s a good time for a change.

More cap space, and less of a log jam in the middle 6 wings. Conroy is cookin’.

I didn’t want to say this earlier but Mangiapane is the kind of player who we could replace (internally or externally) without too much difficulty. He is a ~0.5 point per game defensively responsible forward without any real unique qualities.

If the Flames were looking to sign someone like DeBrusk, it would make sense to unload Mangiapane first because they’re very comparable.

  19. Lisa_lou_hoo

    Well done,Connie.

Thank you for your service,Bread. Good luck in your new home!

  20. We are so far under cap now. Get a big signing for like 2 years purely for the entertainment value and meeting cap floor

  21. Brilliant_Reserve_57

Lol wow a 2nd for Mang lol always liked the kid but he def wasnt living up to 6 mill a year lol and no retention CONNY!!!!!!! This man needs a medal!! Love the cleaning house flames needed a Change and finally a GM that’s doing what needs to actually be done!!

  22. Oxidehookah

    Wasn’t he a sixth round pick? I can’t remember.

  23. imaybeacatIRl

There it is. I didn’t expect him to go this early, but also surprised we got a 2nd for him.

  24. FinkBass420

Thank god. He hasn’t given a fuck since 13 and 19 left

  25. Mr_Biggums

Add it to the collection of merch I have with the player gone

    Gaudreau, Chucky, Markstrom authentics
    Mangi shirt

  26. undeletable-2

if it doesnt work out for him in washington, he has a solid career in illustration and graphic design to fall back on

  27. MonkeySailor

Good trade. Frees up a spot for Coronato in the top nine

  28. CJets757

Great trade, although I am sad to see my favourite player get traded. I hope he does well in Washington

  29. Wayz6430

Noooo breadman. Knew it was inevitable but still hurts. Go forth and kick butt!

  30. Good. Love him to death but all I remember is him losing possession of the puck and slipping on the ice. Hopefully he gets his form back in WSH

  31. Maclammy

Gonna miss Mangi, but this was an obvious trade that needed to happen.

  32. theluckyllama

This feels like the first season in 30 years where the GM actually has a vision for the team and is making moves to build it up accordingly. For a time Tre seemed to as well but after that 2015 run he just bet the farm on veteran signings instead of finishing up the final needed pieces to build a proper wagon.

  33. rockylion

Noooo, just fell to my knees in a Cobs Bread

  34. Players left from the Battle of Alberta:

    Backland

    Coleman

    Andersson

    Kylington

    Vladar
