I don't understand the prioritization of these older players. I get that Turbo and Guentzel are good, but they've peaked. We'll end up like the Capitals if we sign them to big deals before resigning Necas, Jarvis, and other young free agents.
If we give anyone an 8×8 deal, it shouldn't be Guentzel, dude has 4 years at this level tops. Necas should be the top priority for an 8×8 deal because he's still showing that he has more to give and he'll actually be worth it for those 8 years. Jarvis is an obvious choice as well.
If we need to make room to make Jarvis and Necas stick around, it should be Turbo and Guentzel that are sent off to make the space for it.
