  1. If the nhl had respect they would have given it before edmonton left the ice. This is on the nhl not mcdavid. Giguere was still on the ice with his team.

  2. This guy Mc David is a true looser …He disrespected NHL decision. HE disrespected Conn Smythe and Toronto Maple Leafs . He acted like a cry baby in diapers… He insulated Edmonton Oilers fans who spent their money to watch game 7…
Atleast he could have man up and accept the Trophy and thanked all the Oiler fans in the stadium who came to support them.
Instead he went and hid in the locker room.
This is how people behave when they make too much MONEY and think they are Hockey God's

  3. JUST my four cents in on all this.

First of all I don't blame Mr MCDavid. He simply wanted a fast exit to take advantage of that new McDonald's five dollar meal deal. Good for him

Secondly for the OILERS to have lost after they gained momentum after after having been down three games to nothing then going back to Florida beating the Panthers 8 to 1 then the two subsequent games 5 to 3:and 5 to 1 respectively and to lose hoisting the Stanley cup due to a fluke goal from Florida I don't think so

LIKE I've stated in earlier vomnents hockey gas gone thf way if professional jirde rdcung and baseball it id rigged now as if thr kadt several years. And unlike before when I debunked the Gary betteman hates Canada conspiracy theories I saw that smirk.

And plus channel five News here in ca judt reported kachukk went swimming in the ocean dith gge vup. Thank God thf Great White's had enough sense not to have gobbled him up as they would have had lifelong acid reflux and indigestion problems for the rest of their lives

  4. First of all my four cents in on all of this

For the OILERS to have lost after having been down three games to nothing then miraculously making a comeback by beating Florida 8 to 1 then in the subsequent two games 5 to 3 and 5 to 1 I saw that smirk on betteman s face

Just like I stated in earlier comments unfortunately the the game of hockey in the last several years has gone the way of professional horse racing and baseball it is rigged now

And finally I'm glad those great white sharks had enough common sense dnd did not make the mistake of gobbling up kachukk they would have had lifelong acid reflux and indigestion problems for the rest of their lives

And as far as McDavid is concerned I don't blame him for wanting to make a fast exit the poor man was simply trying to take advantage of that new McDonald's $5 meal deal can't blame him

  5. I think the bigger issue is being buried here: Why the HELL did Betman wait until over 5 minutes AFTER McDavid had left the ice to finally be bothered to announce him as the winner? Could he even hear the PA from the locker room? Was he in the shower or on the can? Was he changing back into his street clothes by then? Maybe he didn't come out to accept it because he physically couldn't, not without becoming Connor McStreaker and that's probably not a photo anyone wants to see, certainly not with kids watching.

  6. To all of the boneheads out there who think 97 was a poor sport and a baby for not accepting the award… we'd like to see you in the same situation… you are regarded as the best player in the world, the captain of a team that could finally win one for Canada after 30 years, coming back from 3 games down in a fashion not repeated since 1942… but in game 7, you come up with nothing in a losing effort… sure, you racked up a lot of points, but you didn't get your team to the final single-handedly, because a lot of the role players contributed too… the ENTIRE team battled so hard, with so much at stake, could have been legendary heroes… but it didn't happen. Win as a team, lose as a team. All of your fellow soldiers are gutted, but YOU get to accept an award, in front of enemy fans, for being the best player… while your teammates, your fans, and all of Canada, lie bleeding? McDavid decided not to be anything above his teammates. Nah, it's entirely on the NHL for making it so awkward. In the rare case where the Conn Smythe winner is on the losing team, it should be announced via a single graphic displayed on the scoreboard. Presented, acknowledged, done. Let the winning team celebrate, and leave the runners-up alone so that they can mourn their defeat in private.

  7. Dude get this garbage out of here. The conn smythe is a trophy based almost entirely on individual performance, mcdavid does not care one bit about those individual trophies he wants the big one for the team. So what he didn’t come out to accept it he was probably too busy being a team captain in the lockerroom after the game. Everyone get your panties out of a knot ffs

  8. Connor had every right to do what he did ,amazing the the media always makes such a big deal out of such stupid things! A Canucks media moron picked him second and picked the Canucks to beat the Oilers LOOOOL 0-2 ,

  9. He didn't want to take away from the Florida Panthers winning the Stanley Cup, he's aware of how much people talk about him and he wanted the moment to be about the other team winning and not a moment about him. I love his leadership qualities.

  10. Completely disagree with that take. He showed exactly how to lose by leading the handshake line then waiting for every play on his team to leave the ice before him, then being with his team which is where he should be. Going out to receive a trophy in front of a crowd of people that have no interest in seeing you is stupid

  11. McDavid is just a baby. He totally choked in the most Important game of the year. He is no Gretzky that is for sure

  12. Giguere wasn't the captain of that team or the emotional leader and honestly wasn't particularly needed in the Ducks dressing room. Also, was he called back on to the ice to receive it? I'm curious how the timing worked out. Did Anaheim stay on the ice to thank their home fans? Probably.

  13. Well at least they didn't give him a chance to disrespect it like a Canadian girl winning a silver.

  14. Players can get very superstitious. It would be better to retire and not win the Stanley cup by not touching it then to touch and fell horible by saying to yourself that maybe if u did not touch it, u would of wone. Im sure Connor is that type of guy. Gyger can’t really say anything beacause he wone the Stanley cup and did not have to go through all that pain wile mcdavid could maybe not win it
