comment subscribe nailed it uh the omark trade happened and it was not as good as the one speculated which no one should be that shocked by but I am shocked by the terms just a little bit here’s the deal omark and his $5 million cap hit for the next year a rental let’s keep that in mind a rental although it does look like they’re going to extend him and omark has said as much not literally said as much but reports are we get back our first round pick number 25 from basically Detroit we sent it to Detroit they sent it to Ottawa now we get it back that’s awesome if the trade was the 25th pick forar I’ve said this already not actually that upset a first rounder for a goal tender rental great I mean kind of right I know the vzna and he’s a great golender and everything like that I’m with you goalies are weird San is supposed to be the next guy uh busy just got signed by the way to a one-year extension 2A contract 2A does not mean that he doesn’t need waivers by the way he does need waivers this year we’ll talk about him uh at another time um so first rounder back super great stop right there and I’m like yeah all right good strong work nothing special freed up some cap space and got a first rounder Mark Castell I might not be saying that right yet who is a Faceoff demon has like a 56% career win rate the phas off is great defensively strong had 10 points in 60 something games this year five goals five assists can’t find can’t find the net in the offensive zone to save his life he there’s value in a defensive Faceoff specialist there’s value in that guy there is value in that player don’t get me wrong that’s great um 25 years old one more year left before he’s an RFA did we need another bottom six guy who can’t for the life of him figure out what to do in the offensive zone like is that what we needed is that what we needed I don’t know but hey maybe he was a throwin whatever I’m not upset about this guy not upset the last part of this deal junis corpolo junis corpolo junas corpolo Jonas corpo whatever dude guys’s been not great let’s go with not great actually actually let’s get the exact numbers for you for not great last year he had an 89 save percentage in 55 games played that’s not great money Puck we’re just doing this live right now because again I want to watch the game money Puck has him hold on I’ll make sure we get this right as the second worst goal tender in the League last year in goals saved above expected cumulative so let’s actually yeah he could have been way worse when comparing him to non-starters so that’s something so you say hey whatever it’s a bad goenda a bunch of money for a bunch more years wait he does four million a year 1 million away from omark’s five million and he has and let me just make sure I’m doing this correctly here four more seasons this year and three more after told you I was trying to go fast so that I could watch game seven didn’t realize Corp solo 25% retain of the contract so down 3 million per year still sucks there’s a road map that Corpus solo rebuilds his value on the Bruins backs up San only has to play every third or fourth game and looks good and is a tradable asset hell maybe even as soon as the trade deadline doubt it I kind of doubt it at all because he was really bad you can’t understate how bad the team in front of them was oh wait analytically they were actually pretty decent the goal tending is what completely sunk their season yes you can complain about some of the defensive play of the forwards and the defenseman absolutely but I said it in the CH piece there are plenty of guys on that team that you still Vibe with you like you would have liked Pinto was never on the table kachak was never on the table a forward across the league did not appear to be on the table like a real top six forward so in my head I was like get the best deal you can this is just a bummer do I think this is like Sweeney’s head on a pike bad no not really not really I think the value wasn’t there marrom we saw what he went for a protected first a third pairing defenseman who might grow into a second pair guy defensive guy I mean that’s not and they had to retain there’s not a ton of value in the markstrom deal and you get markstrom for multiple Seasons so the writing was on the wall I didn’t want to believe it to this level uh maybe I got Bamboozled a little bit but genuinely just disappointing love the 25th pick I don’t really care about cck but whatever we’ll take him bringing on Corp pasalo in his full contract with maybe this is Sweeney just putting his nut sack on the table being like I’m the big dog we’re going to we’re going to make this go tender great and then we’re going to flip them for more assets that’s bravado that’s hubris it’s hubris do you know what that means hubus is overconfidence it’s ego it’s belief in oneself past reality it’s hubris and I think bringing Corpus solo back it’s a little hubris because I think if the Ottawa Senators really wanted to free up some cap space which let’s see hold on they don’t really need to do actually they kind of did they kind of did need to free up some cap space they had to fill out some holes and they’ve only got you know 11 million to do it with they could have used a little more cap space but you wanted to bring omark I get the swap it shouldn’t it have cost the first to get rid of Corp Paso’s contract with how bad he’s been or at least a third rounder I’m just kind of flabbergasted at the fact that it feels like I I don’t know what the first was for what was Omar going to get by himself right because I feel like that first that came back is partly there because of taking on corpas Solo’s whole contract right this isn’t the sky is falling but feels like a swing and a miss that might be the best deal out there might have been we don’t know we weren’t part of the conversations that was the best deal out there right now I mean waiting a little while doesn’t seem like the worst idea but the draft pick’s great I’m really excited about that we’ll I’ll start having to dive into prospects and things of that nature um damn man that corpas solo contract just a bummer but he’s a breu now oh I should say this the buy out’s not that bad the first two years stay under 650,000 the next six years after that never Peak above 1.75 million and I think the last four years are like 1 million a year the buyout is not that bad so if they buy out Corpus solo still you took on that contract to buy it out you couldn’t squeeze him for an extra pick somewhere I’m a little surprised by this omark isn’t extended yet either though so you know maybe that played a role not my favorite deal don’t really understand bringing him in or why we had to doesn’t feel like full value but hey goalies are weird and like I mentioned earlier maybe the writing was on the wall from the markstrom deal either way if corpal stays a bruin you’re going to cheer for him hell yeah you are cuz he’s going to be a bruin Swan takes the net omark was a great Bruin he was a great Bruin I’m going to miss him I am going to miss him wonder what they’re going to do with the goalie hugs go bees go be and
