Man I’d love to bring him back but we can’t afford to claim him and its pretty unlikely he would a) forego that money b) go unclaimed by other teams. Guy is a winner and a playoff performer, just on a slightly overpriced deal.

Rangers are poorly run organization that didn’t know what they were signing up when they got Goodrow. He had a great playoff for them, but they’ll stick with their career playoff losers. Could see a lot of good fits for him – he’ll get a better opportunity.

Love him and always will but if anyone on here genuinely suggests picking him up I’m gonna think you’re a little dumb I gotta be honest

Of all our guys who got the bag, he was prob the most egregious with that 6 year contract.

Great player and bottom 6 guy. Would love to swap him out with jeannot and shery

Pretty much all of our role players on those cup teams including the ones we kept got paid a pretty hefty Cup tax. Basically all of them, even the ones with some offensive skill like Killorn and Palat, are on pretty awful contracts. The only one that looks decent is Coleman’s. Still have to love what all those guys bring, but the key to building a Cup winner is having guys that contribute like that when they’re less proven on cheaper deals.

  6. 3 more years at 3.6+ is so bad, good for him. Would love him back at a third of the price though

This is not for a buyout (as of typing)

We’re not claiming him, we cannot afford to bring on almost 4 mil for another 3 seasons. Highly unlikely another team claims him for the same reason we won’t.

Waivers for buyout or assignment to AHL? If buyout, wonder if we could re-sign him for near league minimum given he’ll still be on NYR’s payroll. No way should we touch his existing contract though.

    Goodrow – (Gourde + Coleman) = nah

    It’s simple math

Good luck to him wherever he lands, but I hope it isn’t here

Likely for a buyout. If we can get him cheap in FA I’d be all in

Of all things being talked and speculated about by insiders/media, I didn’t expect to see this today.

He was one of a select few who showed up and performed in the postseason for the Rangers, with that being said everyone and their mother knew that this deal was about everything but point production and wasn’t going to age well.

dude had THREE more seasons after this one. made it less than halfway through his deal.

bad deal the day it was signed
