  1. I’m not sure of the numbers for Marner but I think on July 1st he gets about a $ 7 million signing bonus and the rest of his salary is spread over the year ( about a $ 1 million)….so trading him with his permission doesn’t save very much money for this year….now his low salary makes him very easy to trade for this year but what team want to take on a $ 10-12 Million salary even with a higher cap for subsequent years…..

  2. DVR the Calder Cup Finals. Honestly, I don't remember a thing Johnson dud on the ice. I remember seeing him skate, but that's it. The Flyers just straight-up need better defense, there's gotta be someone out there. Hell, buyout Iorio.

  3. If last night's game 5 of the NBA finals is any indication this series will be over tonight. The rats will reign supreme.

  4. I hope they do extend Marner for 8 years at $11.5 million…and then they trade him in 2025 and he wins three Cups elsewhere.

  5. From 2005 until 2016 I watched the Leafs qualify for the playoffs once in 11 years. A whole DECADE of NO PLAYOFFS! Then came Mitch Marner, and, we have had great years and made the playoffs every year ever since. I am extremely happy Mitch will be back for another 82 game regular season. The playoffs are like, dare I say it, going to the Casino on a date. You could win it all, win a little or just lose. What are the odds? You can still walk out feeling nice with your date on your arm. Realistic expectation for next year is making the playoffs. What I really hope for is that Joe Wall becomes the best goalie in the world. That's what it's going to take to win it all. Otherwise, I cant wait for the core four to be fantastic again in October.

  6. Toronto awesome team for a regular season!!! plenty of selfish players who wants great STATS!!!! but once playoffs start …. just like that … GONE

  7. if marner stays in toronto and they just run it back, that feels very “NHL dallas cowboys” to me. mirrors their offseason phrase just being “it’ll be fine, run it back”

  8. Im not sure what the point of a Skinner buyout is. Skinner has had a couple pretty productive seasons, and they are not too cap-strapped yet. Although a player like Skinner might not play well in a system under Lindy Ruff.
