Demidov at 6. Let’s make it happen.
Damn I wasn’t team trade TK until now.
Id pack TKs bag and drive him to the airport even for a lot less than the sixth overall pick
Please.
I don’t think this is them moving back for 12+32. This is likely them looking for a player to help them now, and almost certainly one with more team control than someone like Konecny.
Also it’s worth remembering every year there are a couple of teams where it comes out that are “willing to move the pick” and it never happens. The times when teams have moved high picks in recent years it is relatively quiet until the pick is traded. The pick has a lot of value and teams are trying to see the market, but if they don’t get their price they’ll hold the pick. It’s not a player on an expiring contract, the player they take at 6th keeps its value and potentially will increase in value over the next couple years.
With a few players with really high ceilings in this top 13 (even if some are boom/bust types) I could see a team jumping up from the late teens or early twenties to get at Parekh or Dickinson, but they’d have pony up something big to get it.
TK and 12 for 6 and another pick back from Utah?
I’d trade TK for that 6th. Throw in the 32nd if you need.
I’m pretty sure at this point all of Montreal, Utah, and Ottawa have been rumored to possibly be open to trading their picks. The odds are 99.9% likely that they won’t actually do it
New Jersey might move 10 in a deal that gets them Saros or Ullmark, and Buffalo probably will move 11 for a forward (no, they’re not going to want Konecny). I think if there’s a path to landing another high pick, something like Farabee + 32 for Krebs + 11 probably makes sense for both sides
12+32 and TK gets it done?
Atkinson for 6th. Do it.
id be very surprised if any picks in the top 10 get traded tbh. I mean maybe the Devils move 10 for a goalie, but even then idk if that happens.
Would TK be enough? I feel like TK and 12 is too much and 12 and 32 isn’t enough. I’d love the chance at Demidov, which let’s be real is the play here, but gonna be some good competition for that spot. Plus before all the Debbie downers come in to drop their favorite draft fact, draft trades this high rarely happen
This feels like the type of draft to solidify and finalize our, hopeful, core guys going forward. Whoever is there at 12 will be great but getting the pick of your favorite defensemen of the class to sit with what York is turning in to? Sign me up
The only way this would make any sense to me is if they want to bring in someone like a Zegras to build up some excitement, rather than a kid they have to wait a year or two for.
That being said, I’m assuming they’re open to trading the pick just not for the type of packages another team would be comfortable sending. Just like every other year…
