Clip of Jason’s 2nd World Long Drive win back in 1997. He hit a 412 yard drive here. The incredible thing is that the 2 drives he hit prior to his 412 were much longer.
This is my personal favorite long drive clip. Jason's reaction to his winning shot really electrified the crowd and it was the very first 400 yard drive to win a World Long Drive Championship. Truly a piece of long drive history here.
with modern launch/spin monitoring, infintly more shaft selection other than harrison at the time, and a modern modern ball… could 10/15% more carry have been possible?
All 3 of these drives "rolled" over 400 yds. None carried over 400 yds. Carry means "in the air" meaning the ball would first land beyond the 400 yard marker.
Jason is a class act. He out on an exhibition in Sacramento CA years back … showed his favorite workout exercises too .. you can tell he was never afraid to grind 24 7 365 …

Phenominal… but no Majors.
He must have used Thor's hammer when he played badminton lol!
Steroids are an amazing drug
Wow!
I topped it 17 yards today.
Was this wound ball era????
This dude would be crazy with todays tech, and Kyle Berkshire would be crazy with this dude’s cycle 😂
Imagine you go to you local course, get paired with a random guy, and he pulls his 3 wood out on a 400yd par 4 so he doesn't hit it too far
That’s nuts
I give this kind of reaction when I get 300 with a generous roll.

ESPN2 in the 90s was really something else.
Bad mitten is how he got all his power lol. Insane for 97. Kyle Berkshire now would have a hard time beating that. Wow!

Its golf buddy. Relax, it isn't even exciting.
Now for a casual 3 putt par

Any chance you have this whole video? I took 3rd that year at 397. Won a nice bag of Mizuno clubs and such.
real life happy gilmore. or maybe happy gilmore got the idea from him?
I miss when they drove to a green. Grids are nice…but having it on a 420 yard par 4 was the good days lol
Yea, his swing is really linear. No wonder he had the consistency to win 5 world long drive's.
