Brian and Elliott are here in an abbreviated Father’s Day LFP Live to chat as much as they can about the Winnipeg Jets in this quiet news period. They’re going to chat about the LeBrun report linking them to Martin Necas and what that could mean.
They also wanted to briefly chat about the Patrik Laine trade request while addressing the question of whether he could find his way back to Winnipeg.
To wrap up, they’ll discuss the massive blow-out Oilers win in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final that kept them alive. All that and more on the 17th edition of LFP Live!

Isn't necas the same issue as Elhers?
Great new sponsors. This product is everywhere! Great show
What do you guys think of this trade proposal:
Jets send Ehlers, Iafallo and either Heinola or Samberg to the Canes for Martin Necas + the negotiating rights to Brett Pesce, assuming he'd consider signing with us.
I think that's the framework of a deal that it's gonna take to get Necas.
Fun fact: Finlayson is a Finnish linen brand 🤣
Laine needs a team that can play with posession in the O-zone, Columbus has struggled with that wildly and that has lead to no space and time for Laine.
Also as you might remember, in the Jets Laine scored well on rushes, but Columbus just dump and chase all day long, it doesn't work at all with Laine.
Not that Laine has sucked, I mean pretty much point-per-game 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, just a lot of injuries. Also 2022-2023 was definitely Laine's strongest in overall playing.
Anyway, 3rd thing is that in Columbus Laine has had lefties passing him on PP instead of righties, so the pass angle isn't the same and speed to pass is slower. And in PP the posession issues have been a major factor, never got the puck to Laine.
Winnipeg was my pick in the west. Don't kn2 where it went south 😊
