[Music] [Music] Ladi and gentlemen welcome to the Harry lumbley Bayshore Community Center and JD MacArthur arena for this afternoon’s game between the Wallaceburg Red Devils and your Owens sound North Stars we’re going to throw this down to the floor as we get set for the national anthem before we uh drop the ball and get this game underway acoss National summer sport so at this time we would ask that you please rise and sing along today as we present our national anthem O Canada well there we have it the national anthem underway the junior junior junor un9 North stars are headed off the floor starting in net here for the Owens s North Stars tonight or rather this afternoon is going to be uh number 30 miles pler Nick Sanderson getting the start last night against the Six Nations Rebels and the North Stars doing quite well against them you can see miles plater 12 games played with a record of seven and four averaging under 10 goals a game which uh you know in in Junior B that is not too bad to have yeah Owen sounds kind of blessed with two uh two starting go tenders and they seem to share the net uh quite well and uh generally alternating between starts and uh it’s always good to have a strong uh back end there to build your team from the net on out absolutely starting a net here for the Wallaceburg red doubles number 00 Wan shagos see there 14 games played he’s sporting a 4-9 record the uh the Red Devils have had a tough season they are first in their division uh but they are a number of games below 500 the North Stars Above 500 now with 18 points on the season I believe four four or six more points than the Red Devils [Music] and along long shots going to sail wide in the net there and the North Stars are going to be begin their transition although Tyson Morrison able to chase that one down I’m guess they’re saying that was a shot on goal they’d given them a reset on the 30 hard shot there as Carter Moran held goalless yesterday tries to pot one here tonight on shagos Thompson down to Moran back up for Morrison Morris person gets around he’s got a l hard shot and an illegal pick called there and now the Wallaceburg red doubles in transition trying to get behind everybody there was Nota Hopkins but couldn’t quite pick that one up quick enough Brian leech sends that [Applause] forward in tight there on plater and turned away yeah again the Wallaceburg offensive righty there was able to leak in behind the defense so they certainly wanted nip that in the bud Logan Clays can’t get to that loose ball so the North Stars will turn this one over as it heads back into their zone now the North Star is trying to chase down this loose ball and Owen prior’s going to get to that one first deep in Wallaceburg Zone he’ll head back out and he’s going to connect there with Everest LOM wickens North Stars heading into the offensive zone looking at their options passed wide and a long shot that’s going to sail just wide of the net no reset on that so miles plater is going to come out of his net and try to play this one forward see if they can either get this deep or a shot on net instead it’s going to go into the Wallaceburg Red Devils possession as JC morog picks that one up and flips it forward for Drayson Campbell across the floor we might get a shot on net here and a good save there by Miles pler Big Shot there by Nota Hopkins who’s a speedy transition player often first off the bench and uses his wheels to his Advantage now Elliot Thompson he’s going to send that to Carter Moran and they’ll play catch with each other Thompson now with the ball Thompson’s got a lane tries to cut in doesn’t quite almost a foot in the crease there but able to turn back gets that across the floor and morson can’t handle the pass now picked up by Lok and sends that long shot on shagu easily turn that away good positional save Red Devils begin their push into the offensive zone Colton Noah sends out wide in a long shot Colton Noah back in backhand shot good save there by Miles plater turned away Clays up the floor he’ll make a quick pass as Jordan coch picks this one up and carries it into the Zone Jordan Cochran sends that up high Moran down low now Morrison tries to get a tight pass in the slot and it doesn’t quite go good attempt there as the North Stars have seen a lot of success getting the ball in tight yeah they certainly want to try to establish that early and uh and then uh if Wallburg decides to pack it in a little bit to shut that off it will open up the perimeter opportunities but until then they want to really worked the ball down low and uh in tight there hard shot and a good save by Miles plater as the red doubles are able to sneak that one by the North Stars defense and Brandon Taylor finding that Quick Lane to Miles plater yeah wbur’s had some real good looks here so Miles pl’s been up to the challenge so far but again just uh a shot far too early in the shot clock there uh from too far out looking for the five hole tough to be that goalie with that big Woody from there when it’s not disguised at all LOD totz can’t quite find uh a member of his team so it’s going to go all the way back and now picked up by Captain kin Smith who leads the red doubles in points with 59 that low shot Finds Its way into the mesh of plers goalie stick now Cays is going to play catch with his defensive partner and markcus talk will send that up the floor and picked up by Holden Stevenson who sends it deep into the Zone back up high Morrison gets around one takes that shot on net northstars off to the corner to pick it up they do across the floor again for Morrison Morrison connecting with Cochran who sends that off of a red devil no it was off I think it might have went off the Owen Sound Player I think the referees are going to discuss this and uh confirm whose possession it should be yeah and it is going Wallaceburg way so it looked like LOM wickens might have taking one off the NOG in here today Red Devils they begin their transition now up the floor as Colton Noah carries us into the offensive zone in deep Wallaceburg looking for a lane swinging it back out front back to Campbell Campbell gets around one in tigh hard shot and just off the left leg miles plater real nice move to be you know one-on-one play there he beat his Defender cleanly and got a real good look and again miles plater stood tall kick that leg out and kept the score at zeros in tight there and Curtis Arnolds who had quite the game for himself yesterday against Six Nations unable to find the back of the net here early as we remains scoreless with just about 6 minutes of play time so far in the first period Wallaceburg twisting and turning kayin Smith looking for something able to get that ball across now a long shot and that one’s turned away by Miles pler as he catches that between his arm and his pads so Owen prior looking at his options he’s going to send that back for Marcus talk who connects with Carter Moran they’ll begin their transition up the floor arter Moran connects there with Morrison who sends out wide again when you’re looking to live and die off the perimeter shots it’s uh again I don’t know where the new 30 came from that was clearly way over the net but uh and I didn’t see a possession but nonetheless if you’re going to live and die off the perimeter stuff uh it’s you don’t hit the net it cuts your cuts the shot clock down dramatically Thompson trying to get in tight unable to goes back to Carter Moran Carter Moran sends that over his head a hard shot there and turned away by shagos and they’re going to give uh possession to the North Stars I didn’t see what happened there it must have been some kind of back in call again yeah it was happened pretty quick unless the rebound trickled out to the defender and he bumped it back to the goal tender is what happened I think it got stuck in shog Nash’s pads and unfortunately for the red doubles PS out of the crease before pick back up Carter Moran can’t handle that pass across the floor and now the red doubles they begin their Rush JC morog he’s going to flip that back Red Devils looking to recoup here Colton Noah able to get around cter Moran is Carter Moran tries to direct traffic now Noah back across connecting there with Smith Smith takes that long shot and that’s turned away quite easily now the North Stars are going to need to slow things down as Carter Moran doesn’t quite get in behind the Defenders he’s going to send that back and Mor’s going to go for a change now as Elliot Thompson looks to lead this offense Thompson rolls has to cycle back swings it up for Lok now a long shot by Arnold rebound down not quite handled there by Elliot Thompson so Lok quickly to the bench it’s not going to be quick enough and they get a shot on net turned away there by Miles plater yeah another big save and again the Owens sound’s going to get tagged for too many men and uh again the top man on the offensive side of the ball needs to have responsibility to cut that transition off you can’t just bail out and run to the bench that’s what he decided to do they had to leave early to try to uh catch up to the lead transition man and it’s going to cost him two minutes so leading the way here for the wallisd red doubles is going to be number nine their Captain kayin Smith who leads them in points with 59 33 assists on the a for Kay Smith he looks to make it another one as the red doubles continue to swing this ball around looking for something beyond the perimeter that shot’s going to go just wide they going to say it did make contact with miles plater so he turned that one away now in front red doubles Campbell can’t make anything happen with that one sends it back Smith now looking he gets that in tight back across now down low and easily scooped up there by Miles plater as he begins this transition now the North Stars in tight they got a lane hard shot and that one’s turned away by shagos great attempt there off of a fantastic uh onew pass from plater and Moran connecting with Taylor Bennett who’s playing in his first game as a North Stars this season or perhaps his second game he broke his hand pretty early on into the season and now he’s back Smith sends that across picked up by Hopkins Hopkins back to Noah Noah connecting with Smith and Smith is able to handle that pass as it falls on the ground and now the North Stars will gain possession of it and they’ve got oh about a shot clock worth of time left on this penalty to kill off Jordan Cochran’s going to take that into the offensive zone and he’s going to just try to kill as much time as he can along the boards Elliot Thompson the high man and he’s going to grab that ball and throw it across the floor as the North Stars continue to try and kill off as much time as possible aage L wickens sends that across the floor now a long shot on net just wide so the North Stars with a few seconds left here in their penalty to try to kill off this will be the final possession final few seconds of the penalty so the Red Devils are unable to capitalize on that penalty but a couple of great attempts and the North Stars with a short-handed chance as well thinking about that one for a little too long was Calvin Stewart and he’s going to have to settle for a pass to Nolan mver now carer Moran he’s going to send that one in deep for Curtis Arnold Arnold connecting with Tyson Morrison now ever slom wickens picks that one up hard shot there by Moran can’t get that one to go and we’re going to get a call yeah couple of big boys there got their sticks up under the chin of each other and uh they’ll go both go for a high stick Holden Stevenson heading to the box for the North Stars and number 55 Noble stonefish headed to the Box on the side of uh the Wallaceburg red doubles ERS slom wickens gets that in for Curtis Arnold Arnold looking tries to get that pass across it gets blocked Arnold able to pick up his own loose ball behind the back pass hard shot there as Cochran almost sneaks that one by shagos now pick back up by Arnold gets in tight hard shot can’t get that over the head and a foot in the crease runs into the net and now the red doubles will take this ball up as they continue to play four on four those two players will be in the Box until the next stoppage of play after 2 minutes upon their entering [Music] yeah not sure why they didn’t get the penalties up on the board because they are playing four on four here that one turned away sharply by Miles pler that was an outstanding individual effort on a one-on two situation and uh he got in and had a crafty shot that brought it back short side miles plater took it away Morrison and Lok connecting now up for Thompson Thompson sends that one low as Moran swings out front Moran not settling for a perimeter shot gets it across the floor northstars looking to get this ball in deep Moran able to pick up that rebound only a few seconds left behind the back shot there by Morrison can’t go another long shot that one goes wide and the Red Devils will gain possession of this ball so the North Stars definitely trying to get the ball in tight but the red doubles defense so far holding quite strong this game I’d say the red doubles have had the better of the offensive chances and the North STS great defense there by Logan Clays as he knocks that ball loose now it’s a three-on-one Cays gets as across in front hard shot he scores number 77 Taylor Bennett in his first game back after injury makes it one nothing for the North Stars and again excellent transition opportunity ends up in a goal and that they ran the floor well made a nice pass you know into the stick get a clear view at the net and uh M Cherry buried it just rolling off the defender a fantastic pass there by Logan CS like just right on the stick perfect rollof I think the uh Red Devils probably thought as soon as they made contact with him that he’d be out of commission and there wouldn’t be a play and he just spins perfectly and gets that ball right into the Stick of Taylor Bennett yeah so when you have that kind of space uh playing for on for transition can be even that more dangerous there’s more lay more space in the lanes and uh they got a three on two and uh executed it to Perfection nor star is making a quick change here as cder Adams heads to the bench and Carter Moran comes back out Elliot Thompson in the dot facing off against number nine kayin Smith Thompson dominant on that dot still is Calvin Stewart brings this one in onto Moran stick hard shot he had a little bit of room there top Corner Lok handling that and getting the loose ball now he’s going to battle gets that ball back up high as Everest LOM wickens sends it back down up high here as Cochran sends it back to Moran Moran assessing his options gets it back out Lok looking right in tight that’s a hard pick right there they’re going to get a possession call and everlow wickens yeah that was a bit of a suicide pass uh right in between two Defenders and he took took a shot from the front and the back and uh kind of crumbled to the floor there but he’s looks again looks like he’s fine and here we go Everest LOM wickens unable to get in tight on that one good work by Holden Stevenson as well to get back to the bench so quick and get the Defenders out Ethan cerr trying to break up that play for straighten sends that back up connecting with Noah cross the floor hard shot there believe that’s nsh Jacobs wearing number five head on the floor on offense for the first time here this afternoon for straiton sends that up for Noah Noah connecting with Smith sends it across cross the floor Hopkins has a long perimeter shot and that one goes a little bit wide yeah Wallaceburg may appear to have some pretty skilled guys with some good size here on offense but again they’ve been uh more or less settling for a lot of perimeter stuff too so we’ll see which offense can kind of get untracked and see if they might be able to go on a bit of a run here L wickens sends that in Cross the floor placing Morrison around one gets knocked loose he settles to throw it right up and now lck with a great attempt there coming down with the ball foot just in the grease that’s going to get called back now as the red doubles JC morog sends that up quick change and now the ball goes up at the hands of Drayson Campbell back to Campbell walliser clink catch along long shot there now caught in in front with the rebound he trips Smith with a going to throw that up and connect there with Nolan McVicker and really bad bit of a problem here in transition you had four Defenders on one side of the floor all watching the ball not getting to the bench they did not have anybody coming out the front door there other than one Thompson with a hard shot that add some power on it northstars are certainly benefiting from the lack of an 8sec Ru here like we saw last night with the MSL team a little bit slow on their exits out of their Zone and they’ll look to polish that up as they try to continue to extend this lead over the Red Devils Red Devils another perimeter shot from them they’re not quite getting this ball in tight and sound doing a good job at knocking free most of the secondary opportunities so and there there was a much better transition out of their Zone and Gavin D dumps it off now Jordan Cochran into the offensive zone still slow getting still slow getting that last guy the hit set up there’s only 13 seconds to go on Arnold can’t get in sound generally spending about 15 seconds to gets set up they’ve only got three left on the shot clock and that’s going to reset as cin knocks that off wagan shog Nash’s helmet and now the red doubles with possession as they head up into the offensive zone we’ll see if the red doubles are able to finally solve this own sound defense oh and prior fantastic defensive play there as he knocks that ball loose and gets a long pass up for Calvin Stewart who’s going one-on-one he’s going to get around his man too with the lane takes a hard shot right off shot and they’re going to say penalty here we got a high stick call on somebody it looks like so looks like Wallaceburg red Devil’s number four Cohen vinstra is off to the box for a high stick it looked like it was likely something on the change as he was trying to get to his bench likely High stick North Star is they were either exiting or entering their bench and now lone wickens will start this power play for the Owens s North Stars their first Power Play of the game L wickens sends that down Lok Morrison back to Lok Morrison sends that behind the net back up for Carter Moran skipping over Lok there going all the way down now Carter Moran can’t quite handle that pass and northstars are going to lose possession here no shot on the play not the way that they would have liked that one to go but they’ll need to gain possession here and likely they’ll have about a minute left on this power play yeah not sure if they were uh intentionally sent the man to the field lacrosse Exposition behind the net but if you’re going to do that you want to uh soon as the ball ends up in that stick as the Defenders are turning your head that’s when you send the Cutters and and take advantage of uh them momentarily watching the ball and not their man or Zone gets loose the red doubles bench not happy about that one thinking that uh May there was a little a bit of extracurricular on the play of Po CA picked up there by Carter Moran Moran sends it in for Arnold we’ll see what the North Stars try to do here and so far nobody behind the net but we’ve got Everest LOM wickens just cheating in a little bit there towards the creas and loost again as Carter R can’t handle that pass coming from Curtis Arnold and now it’s a two on0 right in tight hard shot there in a save oh it’s in great shot there as the Wallaceburg red doubles are able to get that one just past Miles plater number three is uh Reese Parker on our sheet yeah great burst to speed and uh that’s a problem when you’re on the power playing you Bobble or give up the ball at the top Carter Moran made a valiant effort to get back into the play but uh he wasn’t able to stick check Parker and uh he found the back in the net and it popped right back out hit the metal bar down below but uh was clearly a goal so that’s two turnovers on the power play that the North Stars were unable to get a shot away yet yeah they got plenty of time here to make it up and at least come up even here with another 27 seconds on the power play L wickens sends that across Moran leok tries to get in [Applause] tight be yeah that was a call that was a tough call there I think that was a very well executed uh pick uh the Picker ended up on the floor so um it wasn’t the other way around so I’m not quite certain what they didn’t liked about [Music] [Applause] it now the North Stars Carter Moran he’s going to hold on to this one sends that up for streaking Morrison who drops the ball in another turnover and they going to get a two-on one as Morrison tries to get back that one gets across the floor and unable to handle that one is Max wowski Kowski sends that across the floor picked up by Colton Noah that’s going to spell the end of that power play back five on five down minus one here on the power play so far picked up by Carter Moran he’s going to send that across the floor now Calvin Stewart bring this up and out of the Zone wickens unable to get in behind the defense making pretty much play here for the the last shot with the only a 3 second differential on the 30 second clock and the game clock L wickens sends a long perimeter shot in rebound almost picked up there in front they’ve got about 10 seconds left here and they’ll get the final possession of this period although they turn it over right there still a loose ball Curtis Arnold takes a high shot they’ve got 3 seconds left in this pyramid period rather and that’s a there’s a high sticking call coming uh again it’s Curtis Arnold pivoted away the defender extended his arms and just uh caught him up above the shoulders so they’ll start the second period man down and give Owens sound another shot on the power play well we’ll see how the Owens uh a team you’ve got a GM down there behind the bench of course of the junior team what’s uh what’s a little bit of uh the role of a GM with a junior B Team like this uh again uh a lot of it is um you know just coordinating the lineup uh you know meeting with the coaches and establishing uh who’s healthy who’s not who’s away uh you know just simple thing like that is really where it probably all starts on a game day excellent both teams here struggling a little bit to get the ball in close to the goal tender we saw you know Wallaceburg really settling for a lot of perimeter shots the North Stars definitely trying to get the ball in there but a few turnovers here and there trying to break through the defense of the Red Devils what do both of these teams need to do to really start lighting up the scoreboard well I think they both teams seem to be very uh uh static again in their offense they’re not working a lot off ball you know so they’re the main uh ball carrier is handling you know probably for too long of a time they’re easier to key off on the ball tends to stay up at the top where the perimeter shots are initiated from and when you’re not swinging the ball back and forth or up and down you’re not getting Defenders uh having to look away from the ball to find where their guy is and open up those opportunities for some you know back door picks or uh just simple Cuts so yeah they want to get more ball movement but but guys without the ball have to do their work excellent well we’ll see how all of that shakes out here in the second period we just heard the their their goal tender and congratulate him on a good one goal only against period nor Stars breaking that huddle getting ready we’re going to start on the power play here as number 44 Devin Garcia he’s going to start this period in the box for a high stick on Curtis Arnold just towards the end of that uh first period the North Stars currently uh minus one on the power play their power play has struggled a little bit this year so we’ll see how they’re able to do Thompson wins that one straight back now uh new player Taylor Bennett and goal scorer we should mention is’s going to collect that and send that forward as everlow wickens gets this passing play started cross from Moran they got lots of time they’re going to go for an early shot Lok able to collect his own rebound it was real good to see though there they ran a set play right off first possession and uh you know Nate leok probably could have went right to the net but he did get a good shot off and the golender was equal to the challenge leok a couple of highlight goals this year we’ll see if he’s got another one in that one’s knocked loose and picked up there by Noah Hopkins Hopkins twisting turning he’ll find his way across the floor now the red doubles with 4 seconds left on the clock and that’s going to be knocked Loose by Marcus talk and Carter Moran will pick this up in the own s Northstar Zone and he will head up the floor yeah that was real real good containment by the defensive crew out there taking top side away so eliminating the opportunity uh for those long perimeter shots late in shot clock and picked up there as the Red Devils now head up the floor they’ve got a two-on one LOM wickens back trying to stop it and a big save there by Miles plater Nate Lok having to step into the crease there to scoop that one up and now LOM wickens will carry this up the floor and he’s going to send that across to Carter Moran North stars are going to try to find something here they’ve got a couple of sweet passing plays before on the power play and right now still settling for those uh easily detectable perimeter shots they are going to go back to behind the net and as soon as they do that pass is going to get tipped Away by the Red Devils 20 seconds left on this shot clock so they’ve got plenty of time here to get set back up 15 seconds left Arnold takes that hard shot right into the goalie game Logan Clays he Cycles gets that up for Bennett Bennett’s going to flip that over for Lok as Bennett goes for a change now Moran swings that ball for Morrison down for Lok Lok can’t get around his man back to Moran Moran around one high shot good save there Moran picks up his rebound gets another one away that one goes wide Moran again picking that ball up and sends it over to Stevenson now to Lok and Lok sends it low Morrison gets around one Morrison sends a long pass that one can’t be handled by Moran Red Devils battling for it Holden Stevenson trying to get there first Moran picks up the loose ball knocked it forward as Stevenson tries to get that now it’s picked up by the red doubles and they’re speeding up the [Music] floor they’re going to slow this down and a hard pass picked up there by Garcia Red Devils in tight and they decide to spin away it looked like there was a bit of a lane there for Campbell as cder Adams had given him a little bit more space than I think he was box of the Owens sound defense on the man down and he had a clear Lane to the net drag miles player across and uh found the found the hole to put it in well executed play North Stars plane five on five once again the penalty still on the Jumbotron in here have to take that one down soon Moran sends it over for LOM wickens LOM wickens tries to go back door hard shot and just caught right in the knee pad there of Wan shagos again a good idea good look skip pass across the zone and one time shot but the goalie was able to cut the angle off so both teams settling for a lot of perimeter play this game but every time that they’ve gotten the ball in tight it’s gone in or on uh couple of breakaways in transition the balls found the back of the net so we’ll see if we see a change in style here here as the game goes on another perimeter shot as that one goes wide and picked up by miles plater on the rebound sent forward is Nolan McVicker carries that up the floor and he sends that back for Logan Cays and now Morrison is going to carry this into the offensive zone Stevenson out there Moran out there Arnold ball tries to get to Logan Thompson but it’s a real dangerous pass flat footed across the top of the zone a loose ball there knocked loose again Red Devils with possession getting battled there by Curtis Arnold now with speed red doubles will transition up the floor just a straight foot race as number seven Warren Everett shows his offensive dominance with those legs and now he’ll go [Music] change Red Devils controlling the ball pulling the entire North Stars team pretty high up and uh nobody sneaking down past the defense no not a lot happening on that offenseive set the wall first they had an opportunity it looked like the northstars were biting as they were playing that High game and they just didn’t get that off ball movement Steve like you talk about Cochran sends that across the floor Morrison in tight gets that hard shot tried to go short side it’s going to go up into the rafters as Cochran comes down with it sends it over to Moran up high for Morrison gets a wide shot there as that one’s just barely knocked down by the fluff of the Jersey one less thread in that thread count that was in yeah he uh got the elbow out there and Ro stars are going to pick up that errant pass going to try to and Gavin DS almost comes away with it I think he thought he lost it at one point but still did have it now Cays trying to knock this out of the Stick of Noah Hopkins Noah hop to the Yan’s work there to retrieve that loose ball get out of the crowd and then took a 60ft shot wide with lots of time left in the clock so again a lot of wasted effort there on on that offensive set Carter Moran sends it up for Cochran who connects with Lok Lok backhand pass there nothing happening and knocked to the ground as everl wickens couple of soft passes into double coverage have spelled the end of a number of the North Stars offensive hopes as now W joki sends that long ball in and turned away by pler northstars are going to go to the box for holding and it looks like that one may be newly touted player Taylor Bennett well one goal he’s now a fight short of the Gordy how hot trick exactly see what else uh see what else Taylor Bennett has in store for us you’ll have to tune in during the second intermission where we’ll be hearing from Taylor Bennett and uh what it’s like coming back from his broken hand injury Red Devils trying to play right out in front hard shot there by Nota Hopkins as he sends that off plater and up out of play back shot scores number 77 Nota Hopkins a great solo effort from him as he picks off that pass from Logan Clays gets all the way in pulls up and rips a shot past miles plater yeah again miss Q in transition comes back to bite the Northstar so uh that’s uh been a reoccurring theme here and uh again that’s certainly something that the mental errors lead to the physical ones that uh sometimes end up in the back of your net we’ve seen that a couple times already tonight Curtis Arnold he gets cut off there by running right into the back of his own player Lan Clay’s battling along the wall Dron Campbell trying to come up with it and they’re going to award possession to the Red Devils now the red doubles head up the floor Campbell still with it Campbell swings behind the net he tries to send a backhand pass fakes it holds on to it instead still has possession now it’s finally knocked loose Ethan Kerr can’t quite get to that ball as no keting for straighten gets there now vinstra he gets around his man takes a long shot that goes way wide and the North Stars will gain possession of this ball passed up the floor is Nolan Gerard has possession Gerard sends that forward for Holden Stevenson who sends that in for Carter Moran Moran across the floor Morrison back up top hard shot that one goes off Northstar and out of play they’re going to say that one bounced off holding Stevenson and northstar’s trying to call for a uh a call in their favor but uh referees able to little Ticky tack uh confrontation down there has earn The Possession going to the northstars Calvin Stewart’s going to throw that low pass up and connects with Elliot Thompson sends that in back across the FL floor for Lok goes off to goolan off off a Defender just off the leg of the defender no reset on the clock here they’re going to need to get this ball on net that one goes wide and now there’s some speed here coming from the Red Devils is Ree Parker in on transition shot great goal there by reys Parker they’re saying it was in I don’t think never no that ball never went in I don’t think that crossed the line and they’re going to they’re going to have a quick conference here I I think that was underneath miles plater the whole time yeah there’s there’s a we’ll see the ray play here we’re not sure if we’ll be able to pick it up there but I don’t think there was any chance doesn’t look like it’s in there no I no point did that cross the line we’ll take another look and they have called it no goal yeah we we can see it clearly not over the line no the referee was not in a position to make that initial call he should have waited till he got to where he did end up making the or looking at it and uh miles pler again saved his his teammates bacon there so great save by Miles plater heart shot there by Moran off the chest of the goalie more of these perimeter shots and the northstars are going to try to get something in tight here Moran with an opportunity Arnold in tight hard shot scores number 24 Curtis Arnold makes it 3 to2 he he just has such an explosive first step and he’s able to leave his defender in the dust and uh maintain a great line than net reached around and tucked it in again this is just something that Northstar are going to have to look to get done again a little help with lone wickens uh setting a pick up high on the back and it just created enough room to uh get the stey Curtis Arnold into the Zone where he he excelsor [Music] number4 another great draw Win there by Elliot Thompson using the the shaft of his stick to direct that ball back to his uh Defender morson carrying this ball into the offensive zone Morrison no Lane to cut to the net so he’ll send that ball back to Cochran Morrison takes a long shot Morrison certainly has a shot but we’ve seen him score pretty consistently when he cuts to the net and think we’d like to see maybe a little bit more of that really no long goals have been scored in this game almost all of them either off transition or when the ball gets real tight in close to the net Hopkins calling for the ball he’ll get it and he’ll take a real long rip as that one goes up and out of play and [Applause] now picked up there and sent in right in tight legay shot and a great save there by shos yeah he was able to leak in behind the defense there on transition and uh got in a little tight but again made a nice move and goalie was equal to the task red doubles trying to pick up this ball as Jason Campbell sends that into the boards and ver straiton picking it up now down to Smith Smith across the floor right out in front and I think there was a foot in the crease but no call now battling along the boards Calvin Stewart tries to knock that ball loose and they’re going to run out of time so Stewart will pick it up and he will begin carrying this ball up the floor for the North Stars Stevenson sends that across Thompson in tight gets that shot away and it’s going to go up and wide off a Defender again nice nice job to get right down the center lane Lok tries to get that one in tight picked up again along shots well off the goalie what going to stay on sound Falls traveled out of bounds the northstars getting another fresh 30 seconds here after three shots two wide and one on net and now a possession call immediately in the red Devil’s favor and with speed Parker goes up the floor cut off there by Marcus talk now across the floor hard shot good save there miles plater as he stops that right in his five Pole now all the way up the floor you’ve got Gavin DS with with Logan Cays Gavin’s going to slow things down here as the rest of the offense heads out onto the floor DS is going to send that Carter Moran gives it back to Jordan Cochran Carter Moran opting to go down low Morrison in tight tries to sneak that one in and use the screen of the defender he picks up his own rebound so they’ll reset the clock he’s looking at options he’ll send this over to Everest LOM wickens LOM wickens sends that in Cochran to Moran Moran just along that line and that Ball’s going to go off a defender in wide but Morrison picking up that rebound across the floor shot right off the goalie rebound scores Everest LOM wickins able to pot that one after a great rebound catch off of camaran shot number 27 Everest LOM wickins ties this one up three a [Music] piece yeah again a good job getting the ball across crease goer made the save but the rebound uh dropped right at the edge of the crease and lone wh was able to just scoop and drop all in one motion Thompson unhappy with that possession call and now the Red Devils will start in their own Zone with this ball and move it up the floor is Max wosi carries it up Red Devil send a man behind the net they’re going to try to cut in they do it gets knocked loose and then picked up by Taylor Bennett Bennett with speed up the floor he’s going to slow things down behind the back pass unable to connect there with Nolan McVicker just just not a time for a backhand passing that show great speed brought the ball up and then turns it all way in tight and Miles pler bailing out Taylor Bennett on that playan McVicker they’re in no rush to get off the floor and this is just got to infuriate the offense cuz here we are again not set up till there’s 17 seconds left Cochran sends that over Moran needing to work quick connects there with Curtis Arnold who tries to get into the net he spins takes a hard shot and a fantastic save by Wan shagos yeah again that that burst of speed just open so many lanes up there for uh Curtis Arnold and uh he again almost was able to sneak one five hole Smith staying along the outside of the Zone hard shot here that goes high and wide Red Devils still maintaining possession here they’re going to send a long bomb on rebound right out in front two seconds left on the shot clock and they’re going to scoop this ball up and picked up again by the red doubles Colton Noah good work on that play Brandon Taylor loses that one and now the North Stars will pick it up and Ethan Kerr is going to try to connect with Carter Moran who’s all alone in front gets that shot away and scores Carter Moran sets the North Stars ahead by one for the first time in this game again just to illustrate again how important transition goals are in a game when you don’t have a lot going for you in offense to be able to uh boost your score there on just one two passes and you’re 200 ft down the other end and cter Moran makes no mistake there and uh s of gets the monkey off his back first goal in the last couple gam Carter Moran leading Point scorer for the North Stars CS his first one and little while we were uh wondering if he’d get one the other night with their 12 or 13 goals against Six Nations unable to get one there but still piling up assists where he can now back in the goal category I’m sure he’s quite pleased with that as Ethan Kerr getting the primary assist on that goal sends that ball into the offensive zone for the North Stars battling out front and knocked forward by Wan shach again just a Miss Que in on a passing transition turns the ball over Reese Parker scooting around number 77 Taylor bnet sends that bounce pass back across for Hopkins Hopkins he’s taking a few perimeter shots this game now Downs can’t quite get in front and we’ve got a bit of a battle here with Bennett and uh Max wowski and we’re going to get a call just a possession call here as the North Stars will I think the North Stars are calling timeout here here so they’ll uh I’m going to imagine they’ll take miles play there out and go six on five and uh have a play already set up to do so and in the second period they have the long change so there is uh they lose the ball there is no hope of cater making it back to the net to try to stop this one so I’m sure uh sure the boys have something cooking for us we’re uh got our eyes there on a couple of the coaches as they draw something up ctis Arnold looking on with intense curiosity we’ll take a look here at the standings Wallaceburg in first place in their division with 17 games played one more game than the North Stars this is Wallis BG’s 18th game and this will be the northstar’s uh 16th game or rather 17th game Wallaceburg 7 and 10 which is good enough for first place in their division for 14 points the North Stars a little bit ahead of them with I believe 18 points so 20 seconds left in this second period 10 seconds they’re going to need to start this play soon Cochran sends that in for Moran Moran tries to send that in tight LOM wickens as he falls to the ground they’ve got two seconds left blocked there by Lok a fantastic play as the North Stars were at risk of an empty Netter and Lok jumping and Diving to you see the junior team developing players that are homegrown in Owen Sound we saw the likes of Caleb Martin last night to you know homegrown Talent drafted to the nlll uh you know moving with his team now to Ottawa what’s it like just to to be a lacrosse player in Owens sound well I can only imagine that the future looks pretty bright I think there’s a lot of people no doubt in the minor Association that have put in hours and hours of work uh promoting the game being on site getting kids involved getting them excited to be part of the game and it’s you know it’s bearing fruit now and certainly the the challenge will be always to keep them in the game uh till they can get to this level and Beyond you know a couple of players with high aspirations certainly Carter Moran and we saw him finally here getting that monkey off his back as you had said and finally finding his way back into the goal category what is it about his game that makes him such a dominant scorer well again at this level and you’ll notice at any level the guys that really where the offense runs through is they’re unflappable you know they don’t get uh in a position where they have to panic you know they’re they’re generally under control you know they they’re very measured they don’t take chances that are unnecessary unless they have all the confidence that they can execute what they’re trying to do OA Junior B division Brinley Wilson of aora of course Leading The Way with an outstanding 125 points in 17 games he is uh a one-man wrecking machine certainly and not too far down that list we’ve got our very own Carter Moran in sixth place 16 games played 30 goals 49 assists for 79 points I believe 80 points now now after uh that goal so great work there to Carter Moran and you know a little bit further down the list I don’t think you can see it here but uh there is kayn Smith of the Wallaceburg Red Devils their Captain number nine he’s sitting at 59 points so offense a little bit harder to come by for the red doubles this year and we’ll take a look here at the standings as the Owens sown northstars come out onto the floor you can see the allora Mohawks of course they are on fire 14 and two with one tie for 29 Points of course being led there by many of the top scorers and Owen Sound currently in uh in third place with 18 points so a 9- seven record over 500 very good for them of course the red doubles in first place in their division and they’re under 500 the North Stars are going to be playing the uh GF Regals not too uh long from now I believe this coming Thursday night and that’ll be a real test to uh set these North Stars ahead in that uh in that race so we’ll see how they do on Thursday miles pler back in Nets Elliot Thompson gaylen Smith getting ready to bat this ball around and the North Stars end up coming away with it North Stars beginning this Rush still a little bit slow to get started finally into the offensive zone with 16 seconds left on the shot clock Carter Mor to Tyson Morrison sends it over for Arnold Arnold right in tight for Lok can’t get that one to go good attempt there Morrison trying to knock that ball loose yeah that was a real nice little again Twan game and uh Nate Lok just couldn’t handle the pass in there tight but uh we did uh did set up a nice scoring opportunity nonetheless straighten trying to battle this ball fall out of the corner and does so that one heads across now the northstars up the floor connecting there with Bennett Bennett’s going to bring this ball back and give it to Carter Moran M vicker heads off the floor brings out [Applause] Stevenson Stevenson and Cochran out there’s a long shot that ends up finding its way the shog Nash’s dick ever SL wickens calls for brown but able to get back up Red Devils will start this play send that long shot in and they score right off the hawk as the Wallaceburg red doubles get that pass back door and that looks like it was scored by number five who I believe is their AP player Nash Jacobs and again nothing fancy here Jacobs takes his guy around the net the defender again just lackluster effort there unfortunately you can’t be following your the guy out from behind the net you got to get better body position don’t allow that pass to come across so lesson learned I would think and uh we’re back to a tie game here Alder Adams gets that ball to Carter Moran who sends that one in deep into the Zone swung back out front picked up by Morrison sent in tight Arnold can’t find a lane to the net so he’s going to twist and turn and send that way up for Moran who sends that in low along wide shots no reset the clock that bounced off shagos now two-man coverage Deep In the Zone and Moran able to pick that ball up tries to get that up top in a low shots going to pick this one up and no reset here on the clock so 10 more seconds left Arnold trying to get a lane he uh looked like he took a stick up high Moran gets that shot block and now the red doubles that one gets knocked loose now Moran with the low shot he shoots and scores a change up there by Carter Moran Finds Its way to the back of the net I think it may have even gone off of a red double stick oh yeah either hit a Defender stick as the rebound bounced out or actually sush may have an attempt to grab the ball deflected it back in with his own glove I’m not exactly sure but something uh made that ball that was bouncing around here oh it was a kind of a deflection I think off the defender and uh slowly bounced across the line but that looked like it went off number four Cohen banra he uh held his head after that goal not too happy about it no that’s a it’s a break for one team and a bad break for the other so the North Stars regain their lead that was taken away just moments ago long shot there by Nate [Applause] Lok Lok connecting with Carter Moran who’s got a pair of goals this evening to go up to 81 points Moran across the floor there as l Wiens picks it up and connects with Lok in front takes a hard shot picks up his own rebound northstar’s able to regain it good work there by Jordan Cochran yeah really well executed two-man little pick and roll game there with lone wickens and the Lok Holden Stevenson creates a great Gap there as Carter Moran sends that just off the post Lok sends that back down low Cochran with it tries to get that in it’s picked off by the red doubles and not with too much speed the red doubles head up the floor Garcia with the ball good idea there just just a little bit of hesitation I think uh alerted the defender where Jordan cocher is trying to make that pass too but again at least they’re uh trying to get stuff down low and they’re moving the ball a lot better this period certain Marcus talk swings that all the way up the floor Calvin Stewart in tight he bounces off Logan CS now the ball’s loose and the Red Devils will pick this one up before the North Stars can even get an offensive player out on the floor still with a one-goal lead the North Stars they’re going to lose that ball as the Red Devils pick it back up 16 seconds left on their shot clock Red Devils looking for a lane in tight they take a bouncing shot that ball is going to float its way up to Owen prior and it’s kind of deflected yeah just he had an outlet behind him that the player should be calling for it in that case he tried to force the pass through and uh had a picked off then leech bodied hard there by Gavin DS who takes it to the floor you say that hit to the floor was a little late and award possession back to the Red Devil red Devil’s down by one trying to find something inside they do and great hard defense there by the North Stars and pler is going to be able to scoop that up now Owen prior trying to find a way out of his Zone unable to last time he’ll get another opportunity to do so Ethan Kerr and again very slow out of the Zone the northstars with only 5 seconds left here right in tight can’t get that shot away so the North Stars lose an entire possession in their own Zone yeah again the last two times in transition they’ve uh they’ve been exposed not having the ability to make Cris passes to get up floor and start their offense Ken Smith tries to get around Marcus talk and good support there as the secondary Defender comes in now a low shot there as pler able to keep that out unsure but he was able to feel it there Jacobs behind the net now we get a possession call going back in Wallis bir’s favor great work there as Hopkins spins around he loses that ball and picked up by Nolan McVicker McVicker sends out one back excuse me Nolan Gerard quicker made a nice play uh a stick check there to force the ball to the ground and onstein was able to pick it up Carter Moran sends out wide moving the ball well here on offense that shot goes quite wide early in the clock but holding Stevenson and they’re going to get a uh possession call going against them now the Red Devils good work on the transition as the North Stars hustle on and off the bench to make sure that nothing happens now Bennett with some aggressive defense you like to see that as they force the Red Devils all the way back up in the zone yeah into a little scrum along the boards there and cutting back uh valuable time off this shot clock 4 seconds left and red doubles aren’t really going to get anything of value off that so fantastic defense here by the North Stars on that play we’d like to see a little bit more of that as this period goes on Jordan Cochran you see the North Stars moving the ball aggressively here not a lot of off ball movement yet but gets right in tight Curtis Arnold just sneaks that one wide of the net [Applause] so good attempt there by the North Stars now they’re back on defense gets around one Marcus talk able to get a stick in the way and that bounce shot’s going to go up and out of play Carter Moran will start with this ball Marcus T will head to the bench along with Logan Clays and Nolan Gerard goes for a change as well that ball makes its way to Tyson Morrison good pick there by Lok Morris in tight gets that low shot away tries to use the defense as a screen for seems to be uh enjoying that kind of play he’s done that a few times and now a wide shot shot scores for the hattrick Carter Moran finds the back of the net again for his third goal of the day and again that just illustrates the value of being able to pick up the loose balls and uh and then move the ball around with great effort here to get the swing pass across to camaran and he uh so often likes to go far side this time he changed it up a bit came across his body with a little bit of a rising sidearm shot and went short side and full of a goalie so again little leave here of two and the way the offenses have been that’s that’s a in tight they shot and scored 91 Grayson Campbell that’s his second I believe of the game and right off the draw an aggressive win there by kayn Smith as he knocks It Forward picked up by Drayson Campbell finds the back of the net again a great great individual effort and a nice play off to draw but when you got a one-on two situation here you certainly have to uh make sure that somebody has better position on the backside there so you’re not giving up a the uh semi Breakaway and he made no mistake felt like we weren’t even done breaking down the northstar’s goal and that quickly the uh red doubles back uh within one Red Devil slow to get up off the floor didn’t like that shot to his back Reese Parker heads to the bench over his lower back and he’s been a force in transition today with a goal and two other opportunities that he wasn’t able to capitalize on but hard shot there as Hopkins sends that [Applause] in Fant now the North Stars in the offensive zone Carter Moran fre goals on the day sends that over for Tyson Morrison back to Moran with a little bit of room sends that shot in tries to use Stevenson as a screen Red Devils up the floor 11 minutes left to play in this third period kayn Smith he’ll take control of this ball in the offensive zone with just over 10 seconds left in their shot clock swings that across for Hopkins tries to find room gets it in tight hard shots turned away as Colton Noah tries to pack that one through the five hole now in tight Bennett with his second breakway of the game puts that one just off the pads he’s been having himself a bit of a game here maybe one errand pass but he’s really found his stride here with this uh Junior B northstars team I think the coaches will be happy to have him back from his injury and Gavin DS is going to need to be careful not to take a subsequent I think we’re going to have a penalty here yeah and uh that looks like it’s number 77 I can’t quite see his number might 88 Strat that uh didn’t take kindly to uh Taylor Bennett’s uh extracurricular and uh he was given a one free one but he he paid for one and got four or five in so that’ll he will serve the penalty here yeah those uh those cross checks were high and hard that’s going to cause him to sit for a couple of minutes here ever L wiked is sending that to Moran back up high for Carter Moran he’s got a lane and he thought he could sneak that one in and I think that stayed in there it almost looked like it went into the bench or into the stands and B bounc back in but stayed in [Music] play and they’re going to call what’s that too many men well no they’re going to it was the 32nd clock operator had already started a new 30 there’s no reset it was going to expire so the referees blew it down just gave gave the possession to Wallsburg [Applause] [Music] they’re going to call it over and back so now Carter Moran is going to pick that up with speed he’s going to get that in for LOM wickens rting tight shot scores Everest LOM wickens what a pass from Carter Moran and Everest LOM wickens makes this seven to five for the North Stars yeah and they just uh looks like bannett just took a unsportsmanlike taunting call so uh again guys have to use their heads they just uh made it a incredible play great goal off transition and uh you know it gets a you want to tell the other team how good you are but uh there’s a time and [Applause] place so the North Stars they still have five guys out on the floor I don’t know if uh no it’s it’s a penalty because what they don’t in a dead ball situation after a goal while they’re not having a face off here because possession is automat Ally awarded to uh to the team that’s accepting the power play so we’re going to go from having five on four in Owens sound’s favor to now five on four in Wallaceburg favor as Hopkins gets this offense [Music] started Hopkins to Smith Smith down for Campbell Campbell tries to get that across the floor a hard shot turned away by plater pick back up and sent over to Hopkins Hopkins back low for Campbell tries to go back door there for Brandon Taylor and just over the tip of his stick Hopkins connecting Smith down to Campbell back up high and that back door pass doesn’t work as Nash Jacobs doesn’t pick it up hard shot here by Taylor and turned aside by Miles plater now a long law pass and Northstar is able to come down with that Ethan C he’s going to try to kill some time he’s going to need to move his feet before a secondary Defender comes in here he does a great job at that now streaking in Jordan Cochran takes a hard shot on net thought he had an attempt there they’re going to lose 15 seconds of time they could have killed and maybe uh able to pick this one back up and I think that 15 seconds isn’t going to end up mattering because they’re able to get the Wallaceburg defense to spend it in their own Zone anyway Hopkins takes a long shot and scores Nota Hopkins cuts the lead back down to one off of a rifle perimeter shot pass miles pler yeah again the uh The Defenders didn’t recognize that uh they were actually in a fouron three situation there with the well ended up being four three on three but uh they continued to back up back up back up allow Hopkins to uh just kind of Crow Hop into his shot there he got a lot on it and uh now they’re right back in this at 76 the North Stars are going to need to see what they can do here as Ethan Kerr runs to the bench and he’s not sure who this is going to so the slow transition game is uh a continued issue here for the North Stars they’re going to take a shot just wide R stars are going to maintain possession of this ball as Carter Moran sends out that long bomb in picked up by shagos he’s going to flip that off for a Defender and they’re going to send that all the way up the floor as M wosi he’s able to catch it and connect with Colton Noah Noah’s going to try to get himself open as Hopkins sends that right into traffic now picked up in front to low bomb and that’s caught by Miles plater we call those worm burners and now right in tight shot and Morrison Kake H that one to goal great transition play for Tyson Morrison yeah great pass and he knocks that one loose too but they’re going to get possession no and makyra made an outstanding pass there thread the needle and caught him right in stride and had great effort Smith SS that over for Hopkins Hopkins is going to slow things down and see what he can find straighten tries to get in tight now Campbell sends that over for Smith for straiton rolls off his Defender tries to go back door Hopkins can’t connect for straiton picks up the loose ball and a possession call here going to the North Stars prior finally convincing for straighten to drop that ball Carter Moran looking for more and more here at the Bayshore he’s are already got three Moran sends that high back down to Moran sends that back door northstars moving the ball well Tyson Morrison can’t get the shot away and it’s picked up by the Wallaceburg Red Devils Red Devils trying to find something here as Noble Stone pitch flips that up for Colton Nash sending that one in is uh Smith goes back door and turned away there by Gavin Downs now it looks like Bennett’s on the floor he’s just hobbling he can barely stand he’s going to need to get to the bench here quickly norstar get knocked to the ground there Gavin down he looks like he’s having a a cramp or something on the floor yeah I’m not sure uh now he’s holding his knee his knee that’s not I think it like more more more or less the way he landed on it than anything it didn’t appear to he got it caught up underneath him but we’ll see that on the replay here he is in control he’s putting a little bit of weight on his knee now his teammates are helping him he’s uh he is hobbling not getting a full extension there on that leg you can see so we’ll see hopefully just a cramp and nothing more he was a big part of this defense and I don’t mean just big in stature he’s got probably the widest shoulders on this defensive FL besides the the goenda he’ll be all right as he brings a very physical style to this North Stars team Red Devils are going to start this ball with Cen VRA VRA is going to send that line try to see what they can get as the ball get passed around and swung out front for Hopkins up high in the zone Hopkins has a couple of shooting Lanes but doesn’t take him and then that one sent way wide and now Hopkins sends another Northstar to the ground Ethan cerr yeah Ethan cerr did a great job of cutting off the top there not allowing Hopkins to extend his arm and get that shot off and Hopkins after moving the ball uh showed his displeasure and planted Ethan onto the ground round Arnold gets that to Moran Moran sends that wide shot and he had eyes for that long side again off the post ran trying to get this one in again he loves shooting that ball and that’s going to bounce instead off of Stevenson and into the crease and now shagos we’ve had a few exciting uh golender names and we’ve gotten to call over the last couple of weeks up here I don’t know what it is about Junior B goalies but they’ve got uh they’ve got some excellent names I’m going to file that one right up there with MJ schagger and it looks like Gavin Downs right now he is heading you can see just at the top of your screen above the boards he is headed to the room so trainer leading him there and we’ll see uh we’ll likely be done for the afternoon as there’s only four minutes left in this game and he heads to the locker room Moran to Morrison Morrison sends that low hard shot there by Thompson he snuck that one just by the foot of the goalie as there was a little bit of room short side that I think shog thought he had covered [Applause] up the Northstar shots have uh they seem to have gotten a little bit more lethal as this game has gone on and they’ve started figuring out shog noosh a little better still quite a few perimeter shots but they uh they seem to have started to dial in on some of his weaknesses perhaps now a hard one-handed shot there as Hopkins tries to get something off before the shot clock is done now Marcus do will carry this up the floor he’s going to send that to Holden Stevenson with the A on his jersey Tyson Morrison with the ball he takes a long perimeter shot off the post and wide so we got nck Nate AOK right in the middle of the Zone wreaking a lot of Havoc bouncing off bodies and uh really being effective in there you want to get in and get out so you don’t Blog the middle of the zone and cut it off for your own Cutters and uh and bring Defenders to that area Curtis Arnold can’t quite get in there and a foot’s going to hit the crease and leok definitely making room there like you said [Applause] Campbell carrying this ball up into the Zone he’ll hit Smith sends that one wide and not ready for that was Nash Jacobs now the North Stars with some Speed Calvin Stewart he’s got Bennett on him Stewart takes the shot it’s blocked there and Smith stick just able to break up that play that’s what you look for in a captain as willisburg red Devil’s Captain carries this ball up after a 200t run to break up a very possible scoring chance 2 minutes left in this game we’ll take a look and see if shnosh begins moving towards the bench anytime soon still five red doubles out there against five northstars CER picks this one up now Bennett’s going to try to go in transition but he is exhausted and too many men out on the floor here and the North Stars are going to blow that opportunity to kill another 30 seconds as that shot just goes wide Smith able to block that one down with his arm shog looks pretty comfortable in net I don’t know if he’s coming out anytime [Applause] soon the red doubles making sure that they were only attacking with four guys at that point understanding the transition was coming now we’re going to get a timeout called here by the North Stars as they were in possession of the ball and uh the red doubles are going to send somebody across the floor to pick up an injured player well we’ll take this time during injury to left in this game minute 43 is Tyson Morrison carries this ball into the offensive zone the North Stars looking to put a final nail in the coffin is that one timer from carar yeah a real nice real nice play they ran there G they gave themselves a chance had a great opportunity and uh now they just got to shut down this possession Smith taking this for the Red Devils Smith assessing his options he’s going to send that one low as Campbell picks it up Campbell sends it across for Hopkins shagos still in net Smith twisting and turning gets tied up there by Marcus talk and the North Stars they’re going to try to kill 30 seconds it’s going to be likely a two-possession game North stars are going to take this and I think as soon as the Red Devils get possession we’ll be watching for shagos Northstar should probably want to get to the net and get a shot off early before it gets right down to that 32nd shot which they’re Curtis Arnold looking to try to do that now 6 seconds left he’s going to flip that up long shot there off the goal to reset the clock and shagos is going to cover it and a timeout call that was very close to getting pulled back in but I think he stopped it just on the line of the Grease the red doubles are going to call a timeout with 30.6 seconds left in this third period so one final possession left in this game and I think we’ll likely see uh the end of shag’s night unless of course the red double score and there he goes stepping right onto the bench won’t even stay out on the floor you can see the coach is trying to draw something up and maybe a little bit of cheeky uh looking over there from Tanner Hamill as he tries to just get a little sense of what’s going on and uh good on him got to use every member of your team from the uh social media guy down to uh the person who wipes up the sweat off the floor they all got a roll and now he’s communicating that up to uh the team so we’ll see what happens here I don’t think it’ll affect too much of what the northstars plan to do but you can see uh assist coach and general manager Ethan Woods drawing up the defensive play as a goalie he would know the defensive Zone likely better than anybody [Applause] else now the red doubles coach trying to uh communicate strongly to his team I can see Bennett there trying to block this long pass Smith is going to take control of this ball it looks like they want to do something pretty quick here and he takes a hard shot on net and that’s picked up now by Miles plater and another timeout called here by uh owwn North Starks yeah I really got to question the urgency there I think the coaching staff with the Palms up is wondering what happened to the play we just called cuz uh there was no urgency to get a shot off they could have ran it right down to 2 seconds left in the game clock before The Possession would have been awarded to own sound and uh they really rushed that six on five opportunity and didn’t get much of an a shot off well we’ll take a look here uh the last three games of the Season Thursday they’re going to be here at home against the G Eagles Saturday home to Hamilton and then Sunday they will take a long drive down to well for their final game of the regular season and playoffs to come after that stay tuned on the Junior B Northstar social media for uh all of the updates on their schedule we will bring it to you on Rogers TV all of their home games that one is sent wide but Northstar is able to pick it back up Ethan cerr twisting and turning 7 seconds left trying to get right out front I don’t think they’ll get the shot away but two seconds left and the North Star continue their winning streak now uh just a conversation in the corner there as this game finishes the North Stars shaking hands and giving some head Pats and no love lost maybe none gained either but North Stars walking away with another two points at home as their home winning streak extends now to at least four yeah I think they might have wins from five of their last six here they lost to a lore along the way at one point but yeah they’ve been very strong since they got back to the basore after starting a lengthy season road trip uh so yeah again they uh kept the opponents to six goals which is you know speaks very well on their defensive play and obviously their goal tending by Miles pler and uh again they just continue to maintain their their strangle hold on a playoff spot and uh probably hoping they can continue to creep up the ladder and uh get the home uh advantage in uh the playoffs here it’s still a potential mathematical possibility so absolutely the North Stars now with 20 points uh still sitting third in their division but I believe now only four points behind uh the second place team so we will see how the North Stars are able to Fair as they face off against uh gu on Thursday that’s going to be one of their bigger tests this season then of course the game here on Saturday against Hamilton is going to be a huge game for them they’re going to need to come away strong after that one and with a couple of wins here towards the end of the season I think the uh the North Stars just may pull out of uh a playoff spot you can see the junior team there just over our shoulders uh they’re coming out the un9 congratulating their uh their Junior B brothers and uh you know Steve it was a good game I think they’re going to take a picture down there we might take a shot of that later but but Steve a great game here by the North Stars I mean you know a back and forth game they certainly were a hardfought uh a hardfought w against a team that’s fairly evenly matched uh you know they’re first in their division but uh similar in terms of points on the season North Stars now pulling ahead by you know a few more than they had to start this game what did you like from the North Stars in terms of their offense and their defense and transition play well I think for the most part their defense was very good today again anytime you eliminate an opponent to six goals uh certainly got to give a lot of credit to their goenda there even though they’re probably undersized by uh terms of some of the other teams they uh they have guys with a lot of heart and desire and uh they continue to improve absolutely yeah their transition game seems to either be really hot or really cold sometimes a couple of goals on transition here tonight and then you see a couple of transitions where you know they’ll go maybe 20 minutes where it just kind of feels like you know you’re struggling and slogging to get the ball out of the Zone but uh Power Play looked a little bit better tonight they started moving the ball around a little bit more what can they do to just improve that and and find a higher percentage there well again I think it all goes back to playing without the ball I mean you know just to stand up top and play catch with the the top man and the two Shooters and then whale away is again uh they have some good Shooters but nonetheless that’s not a long-term success strategy when you’re you know not involving your creaseman so you need to be able to work it in and out and uh get guys moving off ball and uh yeah you have an opportunity you have one Defender down so you got to you got to really take advantage of that excellent well ladies and gentlemen thank you so much for tuning in for
