Wow, King Clancy plays all 6 games of a 4-game series in 1 game, dang those guys were hardcore back in the day.
The above is what is called a "Joke", created in response to Shannon misspeaking in the Video that this comment is attracted to. The "Joke" was created not out of malice but out of the fact that as a lifelong suffer of Dyslexia I find this sort of thing inuring and it is just one of the many reasons why I love this channel and its content. RE: King Clancy: Clint Benedict reportedly did indeed get a penalty in that game, and as he was skating off the ice, he handed Clancy his goalie stick.
The NHL adopted goalie masks and backup goalies at about the same time! Sure, that makes sense. I try to remember that the middle-aged men who run the NHL today were trained by older men who were themselves trained by men who played when a goalie wearing a mask was considered a sissy. Just this past season, Martin Brodeur complained that goalies are "being babied" or are "too soft" because they don't play 70+ games like he did.
Are you going to do this all the way up to the current season, all 100+ seasons???
