How to Run More Miles (with no injuries)

This is everything I focus on when trying to run PEAK mileage. I said it once I’ll say it again I am not a physiologist, I am a nothing-ologist and this is just what I’ve seen work first hand. Mileage is going to be different for everyone and it is important to remember that these things take time! Good luck to everyone this summer!

  1. could never run in the pegasus, always too narrow no matter what size I wore. Asics all the way. Spikes and trainers everything

  2. Hi Adam, I love your videos. Recently I’ve been hearing about 80/20 running a lot where you run 80% of your runs at an easy pace, and the rest harder. Do you do this with your training, or what’s your thoughts on this method. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work 👊🙏

  3. how do you mentally recover from injuries?

I always get back out there and keep going, yet there’s that subconscious fear of training at your peak performance in avoidance of potentially being injured again.

  4. I don’t understand miles. Can you add in future videos what it is in km? Thanks! I think it’s only US and UK using miles.

  5. Question, I want to increase my milage ove rthe summer for corss country and I peaked last year at 45 miles. I want to maybe build up tyo 55 to 60 till end of july. Just took a down week and will start back at 35 miles. How much milage should I increase weekly with taking one day off a week and recently took down week?

Also love the recent content that you guys have made not just on the youtube but on all socials! 😀

  6. Can you give tips on how to remove all arm and upper body muscels like you have. Need this for cycling.

  7. Thank you for this video! As I’m finishing up one block rn for a marathon next weekend and starting a new one in July for the fall I definitely want to increase my mileage and want to do it safely. Hopefully to hit 50 mile weeks consistently by Sept! Super insightful and saving this for later when I inevitably want to go crazy with my mileage😂

  8. Over the years I've found there's an individual "sweet spot" with mileage and trying to balance health, speed, and race performance (as well as work/school, and/or social life). It's generally something we sometimes have to learn the hard way (with injury or poor race performance), but a gradual progression over time is generally good. So smart to track the weekly averages and yearly totals. For example I ran some 140-mile weeks right out of college and that ended up being too much…but when I ran my marathon PR of 2:16 I was more at like 120-miles per week. For others it might be the difference between running 65 miles per week (compared to 80). It's always a tough balance when you've got some high quality speed workouts and you want to stay fresh and efficient! Keep it up and stay healthy!

  9. I typically just multiply my anogenital distance by my base mileage and add that every week. Can be a real ball buster though.
