Lindstrom or Dickinson with the 5th pick.
So picks 5, 10, and 11 could be available. Fireworks at the draft 😂
I hope they draft the best player available, use the cap space to aquire 1 year bad contracts and get future assets in return… trade savard unfortunately at the deadline and draft high again… it is still a rebuilt… the next step is not now…
IF both Lindstrom and Demidov are gone by pick 5, then I think Montreal is taking Sennecke. The guy grew from 5'10 to 6'3 in one year. What a nutty growth spurt. I watched his highlights from his past seasons and Sennecke has loads of skill and upside. Because he was a smaller player back then, he focused on building that tool kit. That took kit doesn't go away if he grows into a big body. He still has it. That is pretty tantalizing to have that skill in a big body. The problem is that he will need another year or two to develop in the minors since he needs to fill out the body and we need to see if he has the skating since his movement is also going to be very different when he was a smaller player.
Montreal isn't ready to make any push into the playoffs this year or next. Our contracts pretty much stops this. But we can keep developing and Sennecke at 5 will be something I wouldn't be against. Especially since I don't think he will drop out of the top 10.
We [MUST] take a D-man if the offensive players are gone @#5. We can as you say here, do a trade for good offensive players later but if you only pick according to immediate needs then it sets your team back on stocking the best players available which means [LESS DRAFT CAPITOL LATER DOWN THE ROAD].
Nothing burger.
Iginla is the safest bet at #5
Suzuki vibes, captain material, built like a tank
Sennecke as well
There is no consensus from 3-15 so who cares if you take the best forward available
If they draft a dman expect massive decisions made in the offseason
Taking Lindstrom over Demidov I could see being possible and I'd be fine with it. The Russia nonsense is pure BS and is starting to become a yearly joke in the NHL. I would also question our management's wisdom for the first time if we passed on Iginla to take Parekh or Buum, neither of whom is an assured top pairing NHL D-man, when we desperately need scoring forwards.
why this year playoff style for an A prospect? The NHL will be very different in 5-10 years..who knows?
Unless Leshunov is a available which he shouldn’t be I hope we don’t draft a defensmen
The Demidov rumors are just that – rumors. All the talk at the combine with "scouts and team officials" are meaningless. There are only two things you really have to know: (1) Demidov has steadfastly refused to sign an extension with SKA St. Petersburg past the 2024-2025 season. (2) The person who is truly in the know is his agent, not the rumormongers at the combine, and his agent confirms that he intends to come to North America when his current contract expires in 2025. End of story.
I would take Catton, not a Dman.
I said before…
Slaf > Wright.
Reinbacher > Michkov.
BOTH are about character & playiff performance over regular season players.
Lindstrom > Demidov.
Teams be sleeping on Cole Eiserman and they are gonna regret it.
Zahn parehk is most overrated player in the draft , his shooting perce tage is no where near sustainable in the nhl, Yakemchuck will be a way better pro
Iginla is the pick we want
Basu is not credible, to be fair as he is being quoted, this is just hims speculating over facts that are known for some times, demidov will do good, if he goes to the nhl, per his agents he wants to, so ends of discussion on that, I dont see a scenario wer anaheim and blue jackets both pass on the defense, chicago will take levshunov, so one of them will be available
Quote " ska likes demidov and would like him to play for them" duh
No fuckin way to get a defensman when we could still pick berkly or iginla
Taking a D-man at 5 if he is the BPA,so be it. There are enough youngsters either on the team or in the pipeline to get a quality forward. This management is very smart. This team is headed in the right direction, and given the proper time, will make an awful lot of people extremely happy.
Players are assets. Take whoever is best and do moves accordingly.
Buium is a Q-Hughes type. Take him at 5 and trade for Necas.
IMO Guhle has exceeded expectations and deserves the going rate for a defender of his ability . Playing on the top pairing on his offside as well as he has is remarkable given his age. Perhaps some are looking at his point totals however playing with Matheson he does not have the opportunity to do more offensively as he is required to defend. In a couple of years he will in all likelihood be the leader of the "D" core Matheson will probably not be resigned when his contract ends. Should that happen, he will then be one of the offensive "D" to be relied on.
As for his injuries, he missed 12 games this past season which isn't all that much in an 82 game season.
IMO we should be more concerned about Kirby as he has missed many more games than Guhle during his playing career. Habs will have a huge setback if Dach does not remain healthy next season.
guhle-parekh hutson-reinbacher xhekaj-mailloux
Lindstrom or Sennecke. I’d be happy with either. They’re the type of player who has a chance to succeed in the playoffs. I’d trade the latter 1st pick and assets to move up to 11 if possible
Nobody innovates and plays the game like Demidov. He’s the most interesting international forward prospect I’ve ever seen
Habs really should trade down from 5th to get Calgary's 9th and 28th picks.
Why you guys Nevers talk about Sennecke??? Big riser, big guys, get some grit and way better offensive IQ than lindstrom
Parekh imo is better then reinbacher or at least has more potential. SO, if we drafted him it completes are defense and we can potentially trade a defensive prospect for a good pick in the draft or young player
Please, tone it down a little. You sound so excited as if you were called to play on The Price is Right. 😂 What you is interesting. But I just can’t keep listening. Too loud.
Well if both Demidov and Lindstrom are gone by the time it's the Habs' turn to pick at #5, Kent Hughes should select either Sennecke or Iginla.
I would not take a d unless you want to lose one or two of their other top d prospects in the system in hopes to get a top 6 forward. I would take another good forward prospect if Demidov and Lindstrom are not available
Boys are you gonna be live streaming the draft? I'm in new Zealand and I need a decent way to follow it!
The only downside from taking a defenceman at 5 when demidov and lindstrom are gone would be the heartbreak that comes with trading 1 or even 2 of the elite young defenceman that we would have
Here we go again . If Demidov is available you gotta grab him. They screwed up last year with Reinbacher over Michkov. We already had a ton of Dman . Let’s not repeat this none sense. If you draft Parker or Beeum then you have to trade 2 really good talents on D anyway . What’s the point . Demidov has elite talent and . offensive wizardry
The Habs will take D-man, because they can turn Lane Hutson into a Center.
Montreal Canadiens
will draft
Becket Sennecke
and they will make a big trade
Julia Gulia is the solid defender you want to mold your D-core around. 6.5mx8y. Pay the man!
I’m not sure about Demidov. Hé played in a very weak league and on some vidéos I’ve seen his oponents were like orange cônes. Does hé look good because they are very bad? Wish we could havé seen him in other context (international, KHL)
As for D-man, is Dickinson above Buyam and Pareck?
If the Habs listen to Basu they will be the laughing stock of thr NHL.
