Caught myself basking in the glory of old Sedin highlights like this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Msh9aKBr_tU&pp=ygUXSGVucmlrIHNlZGluIGR1Y2tzIGdvYWw%3D
It’s crazy how fast hank seemed in that clip and the hands he displayed.
Both of them retired at 36 years old on a pretty weak Canuck team at the time. The year after we saw Petey join for his rookie year. Do you think they would’ve been productive for a couple more years? Another year after that and we made it to the bubble, do you guys think they could have pushed us further in that playoffs?
It’s the offseason and I miss hockey.

Honestly. I think the plays between them against Calgary, no look pass to brother, spin-o-rama and in. To me that is peak hockey

Edit 2. No spin-o-rama. Thought there was
They would have definitely been productive as they are both fitness freaks. But they would have done not much to make Canucks more successful in those years.
They could’ve easily played one more season, but you can tell Henrik was starting to run on his last legs. part of that is probably the unfortunate cost of keeping his ironman streak going. Daniel still looked like he had some game left in him though but there was no chance one was going to retire without the other.
Damn, I miss Sedin hockey
I often think about how devastating a team they’d have been if Bure was there at the same time.
I’m always happy to be reminded of how talented they were. Wow.
They were both slowing down a lot by the time they retired. And they probably wanted to leave while they were still ahead.
Chemistry is unmatched.
My favourite Sedin goal/play was Hank’s pass through Niemi’s 5 hole for a Burrows tap in to put the icing on the cake in game 4, and take a commanding 3-1 series lead in the WCF against the sharks. It was like an apex predator playing with its food, and the ultimate Fuck You to Joe Thornton and the sharks.
