Can the Canucks afford an Elias Lindholm return? – Sekeres & Price LIVE

With reports out there that the Canucks are willing to sign Elias Lindholm to a seven-year, $7,000,000 extension, Matt and Blake discuss if that makes financial sense for the hockey club. What does that mean for Nikita Zadorov? Is there a world where both of the big pending UFAs are back in Vancouver, one, or neither? Frank Corrado joins the show to give his input on what the Canucks might do in free agency, the interest in Martin Necas, Josh Bloom’s performance in the Memorial Cup, and trying to remain objective in his analysis as a broadcaster.

  1. Great that Hronek had a good first half, but the fact is that he came injured, out of commission last year, and something obviously befell him again this season. Tons of money and term, what could possibly go wrong? In fact, his injury history may be the reason that he's so touchy about it. Is there not a dash of wishful thinking here? Just because he plays a good game, when healthy, at a difficult position, doesn't mean that you can count on this. Would it not be possible to find someone with decent mobility and instincts for a bit cheaper? And safer?

  2. This team has run on wishful thinking since inception. How about this that the ticket holders hold out.Its probably moog point seeing that this is a DEI league talent will surely drop off

  3. keep Lindholm and Zadorov, trade Hronek and Petterson then fill the holes with appropriate free agents

  4. Canucks management likely have plan in place. Hopefully, they make the right decisions for a solid team for the coming years. Prospect might step up as well.
