[Rick Dhaliwal] Elliotte Friedman and the Canucks trying to get Martin Necas: It is a harder deal to do with no Pettersson in deal like last time, The Canes will want top prospects, Hronek won’t do it. It is a hard deal to do.

Canes probably want Willander which is a hard pill to swallow.  I am glad they don’t want Hronek as he is mid.

Personally I want the Canes to land Berkly Catton with a ~#9-12 Overall pick.  Catton is the pinnacle of the Nadeau, Perron, Unger Sorum type that the Canes have targeted.  He should be a top-3 pick that will fall due to size.

The more I hear about him being traded becoming a reality very soon, the happier I get!!!

Can’t wait to see the return!!!

What I take from this is that they know there is a strong market for the player, and If you want him, you’re going to have to give up something of significant value, not just spare parts.

This is not to say that Hronek isn’t a solid player, but there is a reason Detroit gave him up for a few picks. Not to mention, he still needs a hefty contract.

Anyone else think Lindholm will end up being part of the deal and be the 2C? Not saying that’s what I want to happen, but I just have a feeling that’s part of the deal.

The team has already said what they want this offseason which is a right shot 2C. Another offensive d man is a luxury, not a need for this team. If the team can get someone competent enough for the 2C spot and has chemistry with Necas there’s no reason to trade him unless the deal clearly favors Carolina.
