The 2024 Stanley Cup Finals will featured the Florida Panthers vs. the Edmonton Oilers.
The Panthers dispatched the NY Rangers in 6 games, and the Oilers followed suit, taking out the Dallas Stars in 6 games as well.
I discuss the Cup Final matchup as well as talk about the New Jersey Devils goaltending situation.

Funny how that works both ways huh. If you stood behind that in 2023 then you gotta deal with it in 2024.
Let's call up Ranger Chris and ask if he knows where Chris Paul Panarin and Mika Invisajad went. First Lundqvist now Shesterkin, two legendary goalies that will be failed by New York. '94 really was once in a lifetime for the 2023-2024 Regular Season Champions.
Now that that's out of the way, real talk respect to the very very few Ranger fans that know how to respectfully take and dish trash talk. You had a great season.
Now Canada will come close but they're going to have to wait another year. Jersey thanks you Florida and let's go Panthers!
As said, start with the net and build out. A good goalie to bail you out can take you far, and this year's playoffs show that. We can even look to our good friends the Rangers for that, cause Igor almost singlehandedly kept those games close. Obviously we can't blow all of our money, but I'm definitely willing to pay a pretty penny for a bona-fide proven goalie. I'd personally rather see Daws go in a deal, but unfortunately I can see Schmid getting the boot and either way I'll be heartbroken for any one of them leaving the org. But Hunting Season is here. The Gauntlet isn't easy but if we want to win the cup then we've gotta run it.
I hate that a lot of our fate relies on Fitz right now but I hold hope in him and Keefe.
I’d be okay with Mercer and the 10th for Ullmark. He’s a Vezina winner. I see your point tho. That’s a lot. Maybe we get something back with that say Ullmark and Lindholm for Mercer and the 10th.

If Fitz sends Mercer and our 10th to Boston he should be fired immediately. Likewise if he sends our 10th to Calgary for Markstrom he should also be fired. The irony is that Ullmark could have been had for peanuts a few years ago but Fitz went after another budget bin goalie instead, and here we are.
It’s a good thing the Rangers got one in 94 because it will have to “last a lifetime” don’t worry Rangers fans, it happens every 54 years; only 24 to go! Hey, at least they won the President’s trophy 🏆

With the Devils out of it (Never having made it) I was hoping for a Canadian team to win the cup and whoever beat the Rangers. So at this point I'm pretty happy with the way things played out. So I should be rooting for the Oilers but after rooting so hard for the Panthers to beat the Rangers they have grown on me. Now I'm not sure who I'll be rooting for come Saturday. We will have to see what happens once the puck drops.
As fr the Goalie situation while Markstrum is an upgrade from what we had going into last season and what we currently have, I still feel Ullmark is the guy for us plus he's 4 years younger then Markstrum so arguably will have more time between the pipes… Also I don't think the tenth pick and Mercer is too much for an Ullmark quality goaltender. Don't get me wrong I like Mercer but to be fair you have to give to get. I have a feeling though that Ullmark is a pipe dream and he will be somewhere like LA. There are a lot of rumors about the Senators but they are on his no trade list and there are no where close to becoming a competitive team. The Devils keep calling me asking about Season tickets, my answer is always, "Did you get a goalie yet?"
I would go kick the tires and see what asking price is on Hill/Thompson. Vegas has to shed cap ASAP and players like Schmid and Holtz could be very attractive to them as NHL players on low AAV to where those two plus a mid round pick may get it done. Their ages are a lot more in line with our group than Markstrom so it could be a longer term fix but I ageee I think Fitz may have tunnel vision with Markstrom. If we do pay 10th overall or Mercer for a 35 year old goalie, Fitz should go (arguably should be gone already)
Going to be a Great series. Over the weekend it was amazing watching ranger fans crying their beer. They could not see that their team had a big flaw. Over 20% of their wins were in overtime. 3-3 special teams. If they did not win the special teams battle, it was going to be very hard to win. #BringBradytoNJ
How can you not root for adam to get a cup. He will always be a Devil in my eye. I also have to root for Leon being a fellow german.
Good job with the bracket. I never thought Edmonton would make the finals. I didn't do a bracket but I figured Colorado, Dallas, or Vegas from the west. Edm has played incredible defense and Skinner has been good. I should have known because I remember Edmonton absolutely smothering NJ in a game earlier this year. It was probably the best defensive game vs us I saw all season.

I think that with the Rangers losing, the intense pressure of a goalie is slightly less, so Fitz may not overpay. If they had won the cup, we would’ve made some bonehead moves I think due to pressure from fan base etc
Ok. Lets say that all teams offering the goalie to Fitzy, go on the line like just said. E.g. 1st R+Mercer for Ullmark. Because teams, know that Fitzy is in desperate mode in regards to goaltening (he is not the only one, btw). You would rather take such or not, if all deals are like that. I would take Saros in such a deal, if its lopsided anyway. However if Fitzy, says no, we cant blame for not addressing the issue.

I said in February on your channel Florida is the best team in NHL and the closest to the 90s Devils and because of that I'd want them to win it all. Nothing changed since then. Florida for the deserved Cup!!
