People who say they “want” to trade Caufield are just ragebaiting. It’s that time of year – gotta keep that engagement up!

  2. FakeCrash

Can you imagine the package it would take to nab Caufield? It’s a literal joke to imagine. In todays NHL, it would never happen. Just listening to Eric Engels’ idea of what Matheson would get for a trade is absolutely mental. Less than a 1% chance of anyone being able to offer enough. For one of our top 3? Nah. No one would be able to belly up to that.

**EVERY SINGLE PERSON** who even floats the idea of trading Caufield today, would 100% blame the GM for trading him if 3 years from now he scores 50 for another team.

  6. Jimbo_Imperador

À quel moment a-t-il fait partie du problème????

  7. Electrical_Analyst65

Why is anyone talking about trading a guy who has scored 20+ goals in every season he has played, just set career highs in goals, assists, and points, improved his defensive game, and is under team control? Seems a bit foolish to me.

  8. JediMasterZao

C’est rare mais Renaud a raison. Faut tu être cave pour vouloir échanger Caufield, surtout contre un 6e choix. Brunet est su’l crack cocaine ben raide.

  9. steeler2323

Not even talking about his on-ice skills, which are obvious. Having a guy like Caufield in the locker room is very underrated. He’s always positive, smiling, having fun. In a sports this intense and stressful, it’s important to have guys like him.

Even in real life, if anyone else have a friend with similar trait, you will understand what I’m talking about. It’s not surprising he became best friends with older guys like Petry and Dvorak.

I’m not saying he should be untouchable. But it should be added to his value (on top of everything hockey related).

Id trade caufield for neil yakupov. He was a 1st pick. Fuckin flame me bitches

  11. Jagrmeister_68

The only way Caufield gets traded is if he kills someone in the off-season, AND we get an all star plus 3 1st round, and 2 2nd round draft picks (in the same year) for him.

  12. Booyacaja

Caufield is a game breaker and we saw it several times, even in the playoffs when we went to the finals.

  13. ApokatastasisPanton

Brunet getting dunked on by Renaud Lavoie was not in my bingo card this morning.

  14. Klingerping

I would trade him for Simmons. Nothing less.

  15. Ancient-Common-9913

12 pts in 20 playoff games as a rookie. He’ll only get better. Plays bigger and gritter than he is. He’s a gamer. We need scoring.

I could go on and on. He’s a lock for our core team

So Renaud Lavoie is just answering and pouncing Mathieu Brunet’s suggestion to trade off Canfield for this year’s 7th draft choice.

I agree with Lavoie: why trade one of the core players that we signed for 7 years for someone that we aren’t even sure that they will fit with the current group.

Why take that unnecessary risk when you know Caufield can become an even better player next year?
