On the 22nd of June, 2012, the Philadelphia Flyers traded Sergei Bobrovsky to the Columbus Blue Jackets for a 2012 2nd round pick (Anthony Stolarz), 2012 4th round pick (Taylor Leier), and a 2013 4th round pick (used to re-acquire Simon Gagne)

I love the Flyers but I still consider this one of the worst trades in the history of Philadelphia sports

There are still people who think Homer was a great GM.

Well isn’t that a fucking shame. Jesus Christ.

Was it really necessary to remind all of us of this?

Downvoting because I don’t like this

I really thought Stolie was going to be our future, but man losing Bob sucked

Sometimes I like to day dream and imagine a world where the Flyers didn’t sign Bryzgalov and Pronger didn’t get injured

I used to love arguing with the stepfords that defended holmgren and this trade.
    But we got Bryzgalov!

Reminds me of the whole Gauthier thing. Slightly different circumstances but still…

  8. Pretty high on my list of grievances with the Philadelphia Flyers.

This move was a Snider move. He wanted Bryzgalov because they thought they were contending for a cup.

It isnt even just the trade but how it all went down, really felt horrible when it happened, I still have my bob jersey from his rookie year

Ed Snider’s call. The old bag got and gets too much worship in this town.

Ah, you had to bring up my least favorite moment as a Flyers fan lol

Moves like this are another reason to pump the brakes for those who frantically want us to trade away TK. If there’s a great deal to be had, it’s never wrong to consider taking the value, but simply dealing him for picks or prospects, like some have suggested, comes with no guarantees.

These are different scenarios, TK and Bob, but I’m a bit turned off seeing a bunch of ppl saying that if we don’t deal TK now, we’re losing out on something or dooming the rebuild. It’s just not the case, or at least we can’t possibly know that.

Amazing a city as prominent as Philadelphia can have such a long run with a shitty hockey team. They’ve been ass since they shipped Carter and Richard’s out.

And they tried to sign Dan Cleary instead of resigning Gagne 😡

  16. jlando40

Man do i want to give Holmgren a GTS although Fletcher makes him look like Joe Sakick

  17. Legionofdoom107

Wow I knew losing Bob was atrocious, but this is an absolute disaster.

  18. itguy310

Hot take but I don’t think Bob would be the goalie he is today if he wasn’t traded. The CBJ goalie coach did wonders for his game and turned him into the goalie he is now.

  19. I_Am_The_Poop_Mqn

Let’s be real though, we probably would’ve prevented Bob from becoming the goalie he is today

I can’t like your post. It still hurts.

Going to be top 10 or even maybe top 5 in wins all time…

I remember thinking what a mistake it was to give up on a home grown goalie like him. I didn’t hate the bryz signing but man I really didn’t get why we couldn’t keep both.
