Makes sense to bench wheeler. I love that he got a game, but he didn’t contribute much based on the eye test. Chytil has more potential to get 20-93 going, but seems like nobody gets them going.

The Wheeler comment was in reference to earlier in practice when Wheeler was slotted on the third line and Kakko was with the extras, so it could be a GTD who plays and who doesn’t

Given how Lav has handled our line-ups for home games so far, I would not necessarily assume that the game line-ups will match the morning skate line-ups.

Reverting back to Miller- Schnieder at the absolute pinnacle of important times was the most predictable thing in the history of things.
Frankly a miracle they got through this iteration of the Miller- Trouba experiment in Carolina game 6 and thru game 4 tied 2-2 despite them.

I still wish Cuylle got more ice time. He’s essentially the perfect guy to have out against FLA more. Big, fast, hits everything, always in the O zone, and can score. Maybe the whole 4th will get more ice tonight.

Chytil is a waste on the 1st line and Cuylle is a waste on the 4th line imo. Both have been some of our most dynamic skaters and I think slotting both on the 3rd line, along with Kakko, could present some very favorable matchups.
I think the 1st line is going to be a wash regardless of who is RW1, so I’d much rather put Ros or Wennberg or someone there. Chytil can’t shine offensively if he is hemmed in our own zone against Barkov all day and asking him to play such intense minutes, after scratching him due to workload/conditioning concerns, doesn’t make sense. Let him shine against Florida’s 3rd line.
Other than that, I really like the defensive pairing switch. Miller/Schneider is huge and I hope Lav lets them ball out and get more involved in the rush offensively.

Swap Coolie and Kakko. LL Cool J is infinitely more noticeable out there than Kakko, can generate more on his own too
