Dallas only had 22 shots for the entire game? That sounds like what Vancouver was doing the last three games in their Series against the Oilers
Feels like scoring first is a curse recently
This is the Chris Tanev paradox. As a flames fan I know this all too well. He’s absolutely a top tier defensive defenceman but he’s also a physical warrior. He’ll block bombs from the blue line with his face without hesitation, but he takes a lot of trips down the tunnel because of it.
Damn the Oilers impressed me last night. They came up clutch. I never seen a play off's where the last 4 remaining teams are deserving of a cup. This is a strong playoffs.
I truly believe that either the Florida Panthers or the New York Rangers will win the Stanley Cup. Eastern defense and goaltending is superior to Western defense and goaltending.
Go Oilers!
Full support for switching up the magnets….at least for the Oil. Love the Roughneck shoulder patch.
Grabbed a sprite zero for this one! Cheers Shannon!
Two goal leads – what is it with two goal leads? It seems as if the team with the lead does not bury its next good chance the opposing team comes back to tie it.
This game really showed how important Tanev is.
"Don't think Suter endeared himself to the Stars fans…". This one got my vote for Understatement of the Year.
Tanev is a warrior who has probably played more games hurt than healthy during his career. The fact that he was out of the lineup last night is truly concerning
Shannon you're a real anti-Edmonton fan or a Dallas fan. I could hear the outrage in your voice. You really sounded disappointed in Dallas' efforts and kinda kept mocking the Oilers and their fans. Bit surprising. Hoping you keep it more objective going forward and less homer-ish
Im curious why you call it mocking when Oilers fan chant goalies name and consider it just a "chant" when Vancouver fans did it against Skinner?
It’s the Mooterus Magnet!! 😂
Why wouldn't you cheer it's still your team And they scored. If either Florida or the leafs score it's just a reaction to yell quickly to myself and get that happy euphoria . That's what it's all about, have fun and cheer them on and unless they are getting spanked I always cheer for my team man. But to each his own bro.
Shannon showing how much he hates Oilers haha. So glad we are always hated even by supposed unbiased people.
Honestly it doesn’t matter who wins this series. Neither Dallas or Edmonton are gonna beat NY or Florida. They’re both way too inconsistent in their play and their goaltending is much the same. Rangers and Panthers are playing on a totally different level.
Well that game was deflating. The stars got their butts kicked. Plain and simple. Nothing else to say about it except I really hope Tanev can play next game or that's major trouble. Dallas looked tired. GG Oiler fans. There was no doubt in that one. 🍻
Long post follows. Read / Don't Read up to you. Statistics for Round 3 Playoff Game 4 Dallas at Edmonton May 29th, 2025. These are "Base" statistics and are simply a foundation for reference.

First lets start off with the obvious. For 2 games IN A ROW, Stuart Skinner has let in the first shot for the first goal. In this game he let in another of the next 3 shots. Dallas had a 2 nothing lead with the shot clock saying 4 – 1. Someone needs to give Stu REALLY REALLY GOOD smelling salts to wake him up before he goes out. It takes a lot of offense to overcome a 2 goal deficit especially against a good team. That was the bad news. Now for the good. After 5:29 in the first period Dallas didn't score. It's like Stuart and the team drew a line in the sand and said NO MO FROM HERE. The changes coach Knoblauch made impacted the game. McLeod got his first goal. Perry got an assist. Janmark got a depth goal that was a shortie on a Dallas PP (assisted by Brown). Yes, we had the usual suspects chiming in (Bouch and Leon with goals assisted by McDavid, Nuge, and Hyman) plus the empty netter by Ekholm but we got DEPTH scoring and a Shortie. I wonder if the people who mark goals had to look up Janmark's name to make sure he was on the Oilers it's been so long. Nurse got a secondary assist on the McLeod goal too and registered 12 Hits, TWELVE HITS by himself which is over HALF of Dallas's total.
The Oilers, as a team, had over double the hits of Dallas. The Stars must be pretty "Tenderized" by now. Tanev had to leave the game for the Stars and only played a total of 8:37. Dallas didn't do well in the faceoff dot. Oh the Oilers only had 3 more wins there but if you look at the player by player there aren't a lot of bright spots for the Stars.
Oilers blocked a few more shots, gave away 2 more pucks, Took away 1 less puck, took 1 more penalty (all of the penalties both sides were killed so PK units still running 100%) and they shot 7 more shots that made it to Oettinger.
What I like is the Time on Ice minutes. No Oilers Forward played even 20 minutes so they were rotating the lines quite well too.
For a game that started so wrong the Oilers make it so right and we go into Dallas tied at 2 games each. Take care all.
man as an Oilers fan Oettinger kept Dallas in this game, while Dallas had a few good changes. but it wasn't even close to the domination Edmonton had for 85% of the game.
They’re leaving early because the traffic is probably insane. As a leafs fan who lives near MTL when the habs are winning I always leave a bit early
I cheer for all goals for my team. Even empty net, go avs go!
So, is this classic DeBoer collapse, bad luck, or the Oilers actually playing like a team?
Where all the "DALLAS WILL SWEEP EDMONTON" people at?? Are all y'all doing okay? lol
As a Dallas fan. I'm legit hoping that Tanev or at least Hakanpää play next game, if not our offense will have to win the game. It's a home game… so I'm not holding my breath. I think with Tanev and Hakanpää out we're going to 7 at least. It's been a really good series so far.
9:52 that's right, pay a second mortgage for tickets, can't be bothered by 10 mins of traffic
Tanev was a trade deadline pickup….saying Dallas may not win without him means Dallas were never good enough to win.
Resilience and character will win this series. Hakanpaa is a mystery, I am starting to wonder if he is not going to need surgery during the off season.
I wonder if Draisaitl finds it funny that his coach’s last name is garlic (Knoblauch is German for garlic). 😂
Man , that is one UGLY jersey
Can we talk about this mans printing?
I think maybe the people were leaving early to be a part of the party outside….thats also why they were running out trying to rush with 2 min left.
But i still think thats nonsense i would never leave early!
I didn’t realize the oilers were missing that intensity that I’m used to, especially McDavid. I’m starting to hold my breath every time he touches the puck like I used to
That penalty on Hyman in the third was poor officiating. Clearly played the puck and was not interested in the player
Leaving that arena is a nightmare on playoff nights. Can’t blame anyone for wanting to leave early lol
