What "incident" derailed your teams season?
The fact that this game has carey price and tim thomas playing and they still scored ao much so fast is insane
Freak injury? Chara knew what he was doing.
i don't see this a a freak injury so much as Chara being a complete out of control asshole on a complete out of control team of assholes. This and the Bertuzzi sucker punch on Moore were the most terrible things I ever saw in hockey and they were both the result of mental illness (you left out the thing that incited Chara to prove he was a psychopath, when the game before Pacioretty pushed him after the OT win; Chara was looking for revenge and like an out of control asshole went too far, kind of like Bertuzzi did on Moore)….Also, I don't think you know much about Montreal. They riot after they beat Boston in the playoffs too.
Chara was a bitch, had plenty of people in his division over his career his size, never fought one of em. Only took on guys 6 to 9 inches shorter.
pretty much every time in the last 20+ years that montreal would have made a cup run, a big player would get injured and they would lose, max in this series, koivu when they played carolina, and price when they played new york, and if that injury vs new york never happened, montreal might have won 2 cups during prices time with the habs.
I'm not sure which hits worse, this one of the Lemieux hit on Kris Drapper. Both were dirty.
Thanks for explaining ⅔ to us
You forgot to mention one of the most important pieces to that year, and that was when Max Pacioretty shoved Chara after the OT goal in Montreal. That sparked the February 9th, 2011 brawl game, and made the incident that much more emotional
I'm sure Jack Edwards thinks it was a perfectly clean hit
Whiney Habs fans calling 911
clean hit btw
You mean attempted murder??
Yeah that was intentional. And saying it was an accident just sounds like a Bruins commentator, cause we all know they're not biased 😂
mate the knights did not sweep the jets, the jets won the first game then lost 4 straight to the knights
I still hold my breath anytime I see someone get hit in that area of the ice/boards. When you think of 'dirty' NHL hits this isn't usually the first to come to mind.. and probably isn't the most egregious in intent, but it is still one of the grossest hits I have ever seen. It is laughable that a scenario in which the POLICE had to investigate warranted no discipline from the NHL.
I don't think it was intentional but that Chara hit on Max was the closest thing I've seen to someone being killed in NHL history
Biggest story should be lucic use to score goals
Chara did that 100% on purpose. It was deliberate and intentional! Chara should have been jailed for what he did!
A Brad Marchand slew foot goes unpunished again. Could be an NHL theme song.
7:35
ngl Columbus, just man.
Bruins announcers man lol
It's ridiculous to call Rome's hit late when chara did this after 5 seconds have passed since the guy was even close to the puck. He skated through almost 2 zones…🤷
Bruins fan here. man those were the days. that was a great rivalry. back in the day we could easily see 2 fights or more in a game and it would get nasty. it was no exaggeration that the penalty boxes would be full and the player benches had 3 foot gaps between guys sitting on the bench. what happened to these games…?
Montreal really had the right guys that year. It's a shame the bruins destroyed their chance at a cup, with a filthy disgusting criminal intent to injure like this. Like they always always always do.
Boston is the team with most leeway with the league its ridiculous
No one ever mentions the fact that Chara and Pacioretty had a known rivalry and that that particular game Chara seemed pissed all game.
Damn I don’t even watch hockey and I watched more clips of that and that was so clearly intentional lmao that dude tried to kill guy
How Chara didn't get suspended from this is beyond me
1. Carey Price was a beast.
2. Canadians fans crying it was intentional is pathetic.
3. That Canadian team was a flopping penalty bating team #8 in PPG, #20 in EV goals. That shit don't translate in playoff hockey where refs swallow their whistles. Sure they might of got past the Bruins but they never would of got past the Lightning, it took the the Bruins a miracle to beat them.
Max pac was never appreciated by the Montreal media , he was elite for years and never got the credit ,loved Max pac in Montreal but he should of never been captain , they would never embrace his as one of them .
This hit still haunts me to this day
Fuck Chara, all my homies Hate Chara
I miss seeing Carey price do cool saves
I stg the song at 0:41 is the same song as some old game I used to play with this shark submarine. Unlocked some sort of hidden memory
Chara will forever be a dirty rat, just like Marchand.
Accident? Not quite. Was Chara trying to kill him? No, but was it dirty and he knew it? Yes. Hes a grown man who plays hockey for a living he knew what he was doing lets not kid ourselves
I remember watching that live as a kid, it was scary.
He could have easily been a perennial 40 goal scorer if he had better centres around him.
Sounded like a gunshot in the rink, went around the whole stadium and nothing but silence for a moment
Haha… Chara pushed him into the glass and knew exactly what he was doing.. Did he mean to seriously injure him? NO.. he did intend to hurt him
Only reason the low life Bruins won the cup that year was because of that dirty hit
Chara should have been kicked out of the NHL .
The Habs also had some bad blood with the Rangers since one of their players injured Price and some people blame this incident for his downfall.
That year was hab’s cup for the taking smh
I have love for patches, but he was an incredibly overrated player.
“Freak injury” ~ other guy tried to kill him. 🤷🏻♂️
