In the second half of the 2023-24 season, something was just off about Elias Pettersson’s game. Could it be that his running mate Andrei Kuzmenko was traded? Was it an injury? Had he mailed it in after signing his contract? Speculation ensued, and today, Elias Pettersson has finally put all the rumours to rest.

The Canucks' season is finished, what's done is done. What's most important is that Petey will recover fully by September.
Quinn is fine tho?? Rumours about him that he had multiple injuries
I agree with your Ameriswedes comment, the game is becoming more global, so who cares where the players are from, especially when they succeed.
canucks allowed their franchise player to play with a knee injury? i'm not buying it. i didn't realize how good the canucks actually are till watching the 1st period of the dalles oilers game. they are playing non contact hockey and the oilers are like this is a paid vacation.
Petey was piling up a little chest of excuses and y'all swallowed hard.If the knee injury is a cause of his very poor play he should have been rehabbing -indeed the timeline of it being an issue since january makes it inexcusable that he followed the course that he did and then was pretty much useless since the all-star game and through the playoffs. Then there's the noise excuse around his contract status and the further noise around his signing a contract and then even more noise as to his play versus his pay.Suck it up princess you want glory but you have no fortitude -maybe this year will become a baptism by fire and he'll return to form next season but that is only hope talking definitely not reason
how long was this? so the canucks could have played the ltir card? lol
So then he should have been sitting first round. It looked like a 4v5 whenever he was out there not contributing at times. turnovers and bad passing to the center ice where nobody was had me fuming. He was a great player but right now his decision making was a deciding factor in a lot of scenarios. He just didn't look fired up AT ALL throughout the playoffs. Was very frustrating to watch
You're too gullible to have any subscribers. 😂
I mena Petterson always uses his knees for shots etc. Bro needs a new form and bulk up and train his skating needs work regardless
Canada’s healthcare is top 10 in the world 😂
*Repeatedly misses the net
“I had a knee injury.”
Tocchet, Allvin and Rutherford look like Italian mob bosses no?
You forgot about Peter Forsberg who collapsed and turned white and almost died when the team was going to a restaurant during one of the play off series, where his spleen had been destroyed during play earlier the same day.
Tocchet called it a little injury…says it all
Not buying it. Suck it up Petey you make 12m
Those people sour on Petey are insane. Petey will finish his career as the best center ever to wear the Canucks jersey. Yeah, Petey's better than prime Henrik.
So pettersons production slowed to a crawl, his body language became worse, and his changes were brutally slow because of tendenitis? Sure bud.
If the Canucks don't want him, there's a lot of teams that will take him of their hands. Pettersson is better than anything the Habs have.
Thank you for mentioning the prejudice against Swedes. It’s a made up thing which makes no sense. Cherry picking examples to match your agenda isn’t really a clean look.
I wonder Boeser career is done.
Calling the sedin twins sisters isnt discrimination its bc they were pussies. Peter forseberg, Nikolas Lidstom, Henrik Lundqvuist, Naslund, Alfredson are all swedish players and none of them got discriminated against. If a dude gets paid a ridiculous salary people deservedly expect results. When you dont produce and cry about a knee injury you just look weak. He's been hurt since jan but still playing on a top line? So either his ego is so big he refused to take a step back with less minutes for the betterment of his team, or this is just a poor excused from a guy that had no answers in the post season. The next pirrer luc dubois im telling you. At some point dude is gonna stop trying altogether in the regular season too
I wouldn't completely give up on Lindholm. He's got chemistry with the team and with the $6 mil Myers cap hit expired and him likely to either retire or resign for significantly less then that, and with Makeyev a strong contender for either a buyout or trade to dump his cap hit, and Hronek so far being a greedy dusche, and likely to go as an RFA to somewhere else with compensation, there's a lot of cap space to clear up, even with guys like Zedorov needing to be resigned. I think what Lindolm brings to the Petterson line is exactly what EP40 needs. A strong forward who can mix it up on the boards and in front of the net, who can create loose pucks for him, and has the talent to make plays and snipe shots himself, but his big presence is most felt in getting the puck off the boards and being a big screen in front of the net, and forcing the D to collapse in, while blueliners like Hughes are enough of a threat to keep the wingers up high, creating some space in the middle for Pettey to one time or dangle in front and shoot.
Great video. Subscribed
If it was truly a bad injury why would Tocchet call him a passenger just a week ago. Tocchet’s response pretty much tells u what he thinks about Peter’s answer. At the time they resigned him why would they sign a huge contract if they thought he had some huge injury and his ability to play would be impacted. Peter just needs to bulk up and toughen up. Good news he now has time to do that and if he does the Canucks will be fine.
vancouver sport talk radio is already making fun of that knee injury.. like its not real.
playing in these markets, if you do not please the crowd, you are on the chopping board.
Die hard Canucks fan, I wear my Petey jersey when watching games…but, Petey… my guy… I call total BS on the knee "injury", he skated fine and he was throwing weight around trying to hit all the way to the end of the season. Petey… ur my guy, but don't hide behind excuses… whatever he was dealing with was not a major injury or anything that excuses the lack of effort in the playoffs. Work hard this summer Petey.. we need more from you in the playoffs.
Oh that’s the guy on the Milk Cartons when the playoffs start
Injured? Not likely. Why did he play in the games after the Nucks had secured playoff hockey then? Should have rested him.
Not resting a joint with tendonitis makes no sense.
54 years of "rebuilding" and counting.
They can't announce injuries because if a player is able to still play they will be targeted by players on other teams to try and injure them further, isn't this the rationale?
If he was truly injured, he shouldn't have been playing. Saying now that he had a knee injury is shameful.
It explains some things not everything
Nothing beats the doppler effect, sure its not specially train related but the horn going by you at high speed with the traction motors screaming is something else.
I agree with everything said in this video. I would add that if he doesn't already, he should find himself a sports psycologist to help manage his obvious sensitivities. Otherwise I believe he'll come back next year ready to rock.
