Matt Rempe really did this in warmups

The New York Rangers warmed up Matt Rempe for Game 1 against the Florida Panthers only to scratch him in what may have been a mistake. This video goes more into why we could see Rempe in Game 2. #hockey #newyorkrangers #stanleycup

  1. He was probably scratched because his warm up attempts to rile up the Panthers failed.

  2. Responses are frowned upon for clean hits? I disagree. It depends on how the team responds. A clean hit shouldn't mean you're required to defend yourself in a fight. But, a clean hit answered with a monstrous clean hit…..that's hockey. If the Rangers DONT respond, Florida is gonna run us over…..and over….and over. Florida is here to win. They mean business and will do whatever it takes…..and I'm good with that. But, if there's people in our lineup that can return the favor….they make think twice.

  3. I'm a panthers fan, i was like "Hey some Milk Carton somewhere is missing its picture of Chytil" – i was confused as to why Rempe wouldn't get in on game one – especially when Tkachuk absolutely demolished Trochocinco and no reprocussions ensued.

  4. Big deal. Scott Parker of the Avalanche stared down the Red Wings all warm up 20 years ago one game and never moved. He actually played in the game though.

  5. Rempe can drag his team into the fight. Great player to have as long as he's discipline. Youngster's gotta toe the line. Tall order against a tough, veteran team. But hey, he's a tall guy

  6. OMG! I CAN'T BELIEVE REMPE ACTUALLY LOOKED AT TKACHUK DURING WARMUPS!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!! OMG!!!!

    wanker.

  7. Rempe needs to be the body bag out there, hurt them to take the attention off the others and capitalize on those opportunities.

  8. Rempe will not make a positive difference. He'll get amped up from the home crowd and take a stupid penalty. At 6'7", he hasn't learned yet how to keep his elbows down and to bend his knees when he hits so as to avoid getting those borderline calls against him. When it comes down to actually fighting, he hasn't exactly dominated anybody so far in the NHL and Florida has a few guys that would be more than willing to square up with him. The difference is that Florida's tough guys are also effective players so they need to be disciplined enough not to sit in the box for 5 minutes because of Rempe. I'd say Lomberg would be a willing combatant but he's almost a foot shorter and that would be a very difficult task for anybody that size.

  9. If the Rangers don’t bow up and start hitting the cats this will be a short series. Did they not watch the Bruins Getting whacked and pushed around?! Game two is a must win. They need to get in front of Bob and cause some interference. Apparently the referees don’t know what goaltender interference is so roll the dice and take a chance.

  10. As they were shut out, not sure why the focus is on their goon not playing, who is about likely to score a goal in this series as I am?

  11. Rempe isn’t worth putting in lineup to throw a couple big hits and then sit the majority of the game. He can’t be trusted in a close game and even late in the game
