Vancouver wasn’t expected to win their division, but now they will have pressure on them next season. They have cap space to make moves and remake the roster a little if they choose to do so.

Having a good season dosent guarantee youre going to get better the next season.
In IceHockey, teams have flash in the pan seasons where they over achieve, or the teams around them under achieve.
Its not right to say or show that the Canucks will improve.
They could, but they could also get complacent and sink.
Its 50 50
We need old Shannon back who didn't care about peoples comments and didn't mention them in videos
I am not sure if Tocchets' game plan failed or if it wasn't executed.
Next season should be interesting.
Hope they split the net with Demko and Silovs.
Peterson is a twig and weak has sucked for the last half of the season guys no where bear a 11 mill player
Thank you Hockey Guy for mentioning the Swedes. Other than Petey, our Swede prospects and maybe Hoglander…please stop bringing Swedes in Vancouver!
If they could resign Lindholm and Joshua you could have a top 6 of Petterson, Miller, Boeser – Joshua, Lindholm and Garland.
They’d have guys like Suter, Hoglander, Podkolzin and Aman on the bottom 6 – if they could add a guy with good size for the 3rd and 4th lines then I’d like their chances again next year.
On Defense, if they could sign Hronek to something reasonable and bring back Zadorov, they would just need to replace Myers (who I would let go. He was here for 5 years and I think we saw what he brings when not in a contract year.)
In net, Demko and Silovs would be amazing.
That leaves them having to pay someone to take Mikayev; but they’ve done that before….
I’d really like to see them get more size up front to play the way they want to.
Admirable season for sure, not the finish they wanted – I really felt like they could beat any team and had potential to go all the way. These last two games felt like a wasted opportunity no one knew they’d have…
Shannon you have made your channel great
Unfortunately for sports, one year is a lot, honestly, Vancouver over achieved this year, I hope they don’t go overboard trying to get too good to quick, stay the course
Hopefully they build away from Peterson. $12 million can go a lot further than he is able to take the team. He is a 60 point producer, who produced 100 points… ONCE! If Lindholm doesn't resign, the team is a lot worse! Miller + Lindholm is a golden ticket!
The moment Petey signed the massive contract the team began to get worse. it's not a coincidence, that contract is a cancer and a curse for the team! let the exodus begin
Hronek probably not getting signed, hoping Joshua and Zadorov get signed
Ni e to listen to a true (green and) blue Canucks fan. I've been a fan since the WHL days, prior to 1970 and since. I don't know if you will ever see a Canucks Stanley Cup win. I don't think I will (I'm 86 years old.) Still, I'm encouraged by the results from this year.
Personally, I will be pleased if they just get to be a year on year playoff team. If they do that, hey! you never know.
Unless he wins the Cup this season am I crazy to think there’s like a 75 percent chance they sign Chris Tanev in free agency
Go Canucks go!
You sure they're not at a "crossroads"
honerary Canadian it is!!!😊
Does anything matter in the off-season besides what boesers prognosis looks like? If it's not good, priority 1 is to replace him
I wish the rangers never got rid of JT Miller
I'm officially rooting for a Panthers/Oilers Stanley Cup Final now that Vancouver's out
Oilers because I'd like to see an end to the Bettman hates Canada narrative and Panthers because they've never won it before
Would love to see off camera rants about the Oilers. You are a true professional.
great vid bro.
Canucks don’t have a prayer of making the playoffs next year.
That Elias contract will kill the team. He shouldn’t have signed for more than 8. 11.6 is outrageous.
I am always happy to watch Nucks videos, but shouldn't this have waited until we know what their injuries were?
To many sweds!? 3/5 retired jearsys are from swedish legends how gave it all for the Nucks!
I don’t think they should pay Joshua more than $3M, he’s a career 4th liner with 1 (almost) 20 goal season
Thank god someone rhat actually understands that demko is a better goalie then silovs.. not taking anything away from the kid, had a great series…but oiler fans are forgetting that demko was having one of the best seasons of his career… and act like he wouldn't have stolen a game or 2 in this series, and the team plays different with demko
The key is Pettersson. Just say F it and bring another Elias Pettersson in to make him P1. Kid is just used to a Euro game. Finals in the NHL are so gnarly. Just glad he can be healthy next season at this point
Dakota Joshua is also American.
Yeah ok- can’t get past the yellow skate jersey. Also not a huge fan of the other logos. Van might need a new logo asap. Why not just an orca without the wording? It’s time to TAKE the PNW from Seattle!!!
Also, how bout a vid on ‘kids’ who got the “C” before they earned it, in the face of many vets on the team. Literally just a a ploy by owners to sell jerseys
While it sucked hard to end it this way, I’m with you on the optimism. This team has all the right pieces and the right coach. I think Myers and Zadorov will stay, especially since Mysey has had his best showing under the Tocchet system. Fighting to keep Lindy will be tough but he made our Playoffs this year. Also I say give Mikheyev until next trade deadline. He’s got the grit and he plays a fast style that Tocchet likes, if he converts on those choices he easily justifies his cost, the guy is made of scoring chances that just don’t go in.
tell me again, who won the hronek trade again? people early in season were digging yzermans grave over hronek's play. the second half, vancouver found out why.
Good thing Pettersson signed before the playoffs. He wouldn't get half of what he got if he hadn't.
In a perfect world I'd like to see the following: Let Hronek go and go hard for Tanev. Move Cole and bring in Juulsen. Move Mikheyev and go hard for Toffoli. Try to keep Lindholm and play him with Petey and Lekkermaki. Cross your fingers and hope Brock's blood issue clears up and play him with J.T. and Toffoli. Third line stays the same as it was before Dakota's injury so you have him, Garland and Blueger. Fourth line could be flexible with Aman, Podz, Hoglander, and maybe Karlsson, Raty, and Suter and Bains slotting in and out during the season. Blue line, in my perfect world, would be Quinn and Tanev, Meyers and Soucy, Zadarov and Juulsen with Friedman, McWard, Petey two and Willander slotting in and out as a 7th d-man. Demko and Silovs in net. I would imagine there will be tons of criticisms of my off season moves and I haven't factored in the cap, but as an off handed daydream, it would be my dream off season.
I think I vaguely remember a time when Petterson was a top line right winger. Maybe that's a better fit than second line center, for him.
Fair enough take I made a jersey comment feel silly now. Im over it already, the better team won.
Im still holding out hope that the canucks could re-sign garland, lindholm, and joshua. And im still holding hope that the canucks can sign a good top 2 line winger to play with petey, could be toffoli, could be guntzel. But they need somebody
The reason the Canucks lost game seven (and game six) is because they don't have a will to win. The first two periods of game seven they were lazy bums. They didn't give a damn about putting in an honest effort. We saw in the second half of the third period how they can play when they actually give a damn about the city of Vancouver's passion for hockey. I am very disappointed in the Canuck players. They let down the city. I would not be saying this if they honestly tried to win and couldn't. They only lost because they didn't give a damn about putting in an honest effort.
The team is screwed going into next season. I said that at the start of the year. Too many weak useless players on the team. Management didn't get it done at the deadline they needed another winger and failed.
If only Patterson showed up…
So long as nobody takes ridiculous contracts like a specific atlantic team… Maybe, just maybe we can keep it.
Hronek has to go, the hockey iq isn’t high enough for a power play defenseman logging minutes. He makes poor decisions with his passes in both ends.
Myers and Zadorov both need to stay. Say what you want about Myers but for the first time in a long time the canucks have some big imposing guys on the back end. If you remember back 6-8 years ago how formidable Winnipeg’s defence was, no one wanted to play against them cause they were massive.
The Canadian Vs American stanley cup thing is exactly like when a player puts up a lot of points. Two examples, last year, Erik Karlsson. I nonstop heard people bash him saying "he only got that because san jose is so bad and someone had to get the points" and then when zach hyman got 50, people said "well he's on a good team with mcdavid of course he's going to get 50!". My thought, 100 points is 100 points, and 50 goals is 50 goals, no matter the team. Very similar scenarios are all over hockey.
I feel bad for Blueger. He was really thriving in the Garland-Blueger-Joshua line, but has been struggling since that was changed up.
Tyler Myers was born in Texas.
Great wrap up info for the Canucks. I’m interested to hear the extent of the injuries that kept Demko out, and what was potentially hindering other players who continued to play through injuries
I was never hyped on the Pettersson contract, I think he dragged it out and wasn't producing near the end of the process. I know if we got rid of him we would have like a 70% chance of regretting it though. I hope he gets his head straight and maybe builds a bit more muscle because he got bullied in the playoffs.
Would love to keep Joshua of course, especially for his physicality but Garland will work hard no matter who he plays with and we could maybe get a good trade for Joshua. For the right price I think it would be nice to keep Myers who is pretty decent when he's playing well and with Big Z it really boosts our team's size. Hronek would be ok to keep I think for the right price because he can produce.
But I will say this now, I wonder about Demko's knee/s, this is the third time he's had a knee injury according to Fox Sports and I just wonder if we could go with Silovs and maybe swing a big trade for Demko.
Dude, it's your channel, stop apologizing to trolls…
The Canucks are a joke of a team. What a pathetic performance
Great step forward for the Canucks overall.
Getting some more skilled support is a must. Suter, Lafferty while not bad pickups adds to a group that has Hoglander and Mikheyev already playing too high up.
