  1. Well, well, well… After 5 days of non-stop puff pieces and self-honoring proclamations – welcome back to Earth, NYR fans. You're in for a hell of a series with FLA.

  2. You can revisit this in a week and call me crazy, but that wasn’t too bad a game for the Rangers. Even though the Panthers played sit back defense (really well), the Rangers were still in it. Sure there’s rebound and tic-tac goals in most games, but that own goal was genuinely flukey. Apart from that and the empty netter it’s a 1-0 game in the Rangers’ 2nd worst game of the entire playoffs. And the score being as lopsided as it is makes it a great wake up call. They’ll take Game 2 and it’s a series again.

  3. This was slightly less than perfect from the Panthers, only because the power play was no good. Not a big deal when the defense is as good as it is right now, but not perfect.

  4. Shesterken did not pass the puck to the Florida player, rather the opposing player intercepted the netminders attempt to clear the puck off the wall. The goalie had no other choice but to attempt that clearing attempt that was aborted by the Florida player. The subsequentual goal was sort of a fluke as the Florida player attempted to pass it to his fellow forward . The defending forward obviously inadvertently tipped it in to his own goal. I think the force of his skating motions lead to eventually the own goal. Thank you for the review.
    .

  5. Of the four remaining teams, I'd prefer Florida wins the Cup. I'm not a fan of New York City, Dallas ended the season for Vegas, and as an American, I feel obligated to cheer for an American team over a Canadian one (sort of returning the favor on that one).

Still, even if the Panthers lose, it's just a shame, not a tragedy.

This wasn't the most interesting game I've ever seen, but I liked the outcome.

  6. That was so pathetic. I was expecting much more from the Rangers. After tonight I doubt this series goes past 5 games. Rangers were completely outplayed and not even on the same level.

  7. If you live in south Florida and love our teams…do you not understand how much shit we get from the national media's? Is why when we win it makes it so much better. Panthers cup and dolphins superbowl will make me personally a quadruple crown winner south Florida fan for my lifetime and I will die happy as a south Florida fan.💯🤷🏽‍♂️🐬 🔥 🐱 🐀 🐟

  8. Basically, a 1-0 game. Florida says they’re hungry after last year. Rangers need a double-shot of mojo.

  9. I don't have a horse in this race. Buuut…That own goal by the Rangers was karmic justice for that BS disallowed goal for "goalie interference". I railed about this topic in your rules change video Shannon, as I have all season. Defenseman gets beat, so he crosschecks the attacker into his own goalie to get the interference call. And more often than not, it gets called that way. NYR does it a lot, and they keep getting away with it, so why not?…This time the hockey gods trumped the Toronto braintrust. And to whoever was working the fishbowl in that game – I hope you lost a TON of money on that game. No excuse for this crap…

  10. ESPN bias was THICK. When the panthers scored the own-goal the announcer sounded EXACTLY the same when Florida scored the disallowed goal … "and they score" followed by his voice tailing off

At first I thought nothing of it then realized ESPN and the NHL desperately want EDM v NYR in the CUP FINALS

  11. You'd think, considering all the money they spent to get the rights to the NHL that ESPN would have a good broadcast. Oh how wrong were the people who thought that.

  12. If Rangers fans still think Alexis Lafreniere is a bust after this season, then maybe Florida should acquire him, since he likely would be a good goal scorer for Florida. Just a thought

  13. Worth noting, that "fans thought there was a high stick" moment was a puck the deflected up into Fox's face, so that was the right no-call. And then also, I felt that own goal was retribution/karma after Shesterkin got away with throwing a blocker punch on Eetu after he was dumped into him by a Rangers player. Should have been a penalty, hell if it was Binnington it'd be a suspension. Bothers me what goalies not named Binnington are allowed to get away with.

  14. I can't believe you picked the Rangers to win, the Florida Panthers are built for Playoffs hockey. Rangers are soft and only faced trash cans
