If you combine the personality of Tavares, McJesus, Crosby and all the other Canadian players together. Square it. Add 3 billion. Then square it again, you still have less personality than one Ovechkin for example.

Can’t fault his work ethic but I hated the signing 7 years ago and while he thinks they were right there, he’s correct. They could have won that series. But as all Leafs know and want, the ONLY THING that really matters is a CUP RUN. However if you watch the other 2nd round series’ you must admit that the best players on the remaining teams just WANT IT MORE. The core 5 players in T.O. don’t have the desire any longer. Morgan Reilly was invisible, Mitch Marner stayed away from any kind of contact, John Tavares is and always been 1 step too slow, Willy and Auston couldn’t answer the bell. There isn’t enough fight, grit or desire in this core, so here we go again. Changes are,coming but with MLSE making blunder after blunder, there won’t be a long list of quality players even considering a hockey home here. Not only that, it seems clear that the NMC for many players not already here include Toronto as an UNDESIRABLE team. So Leaf’s fans must wait until Shanahan et al have moved on and some other stuffed shirts trot out another group of OVERPAID UNDERACHIEVERS who run the team from the ice surface…

This dude is a great person and athlete but ….entire career has been a let down.
Dudes best showing is a second round exit, you’d think he’d be a bit more upset.
