I’m more torn over Keefe the more I think about him
On one hand, you can’t deny his regular season success and we haven’t proven we’re capable of qualifying for the playoffs. There were a lot of issues beyond injuries and goaltending
On the other hand, you can’t deny that he wasn’t capable of getting a consistently talented team deep into the playoffs over five years
So does going with Keefe mean we’re making sure we can walk before we run? Or are we fooling ourselves into thinking he’s the guy because there aren’t any coaches available who have proven themselves in the playoffs?

When you have Friedman saying that as of Sunday we hadn’t even seriously talked with Keefe yet vs. someone who runs a hockey blog who do you trust? It would be an impressive couple of hours to go from not talking to “there’s a verbal agreement in place.”

To be fair its clear Fitz was patient and looked for other options. Everyone else has been signed or resigned with their teams. So with what’s left Keefe is not a bad option.
