What do we think of Drouin?

I mean I hated his attitude while he was here. But without him we wouldn’t have Sergy. Drouin though seems to have matured and made a career resurgence after disappointing stint in Montreal.

While we do not know the true details of his departure from the Lightning, there is a perception that he thought he was better than the coach and GM did and there was bad blood. He also seemed to come across as only wanting to play for Montreal, having “paid his dues and proven himself.” It appears he has had to eat some crow, matured a bit and is willing to be a member of a team. Either way, the Bolts got the better end of the deal in Sergachev.

Perhaps the best trade player for player in Bolts history -> getting rid of Drouin.

I hate he didn’t work out, he was talented and could have been great here.

I wonder how things would have worked out if his dad hadn’t been in his ear.

Sergy was a great consolation prize.

Really talented, had issues. We shouldn’t root against the guy, in my opinion. I’m glad that he’s still playing in the league. It’s good to see people overcome personal adversity.

I think some idiots are about to overpay him. Again.

  7. He still sucks and is a cancer.

He is legit a ticking time bomb.

I love Dru and I am happy seeing him have success. I’m also glad he seems to have worked through whatever it was that was challenging him. I know when he was in Tampa it seemed like an attitude issue, but I’m sure there’s more to it than that and his time in Montreal just proved it. Good for him for keeping at it and working hard and being a solid forward in Colorado. I wouldn’t be shocked if he has a couple seasons where he really goes on a tear if he keeps maturing and progressing.

  9. He seems like he really turned his life around and is doing much better. Glad to have Sergy but happy to see him doing well

He’s a crybaby and I look forward to the Stars knocking the Avs out of the playoffs.

Lots of potential, I have a gut feeling that he has substance abuse issues. If he stayed in Tampa and played to his full potential then I believe he could’ve been as good as point.

Not really bothered by him, he’s just an ex-bolt to me.

Without trading him we don’t end up with Sergachev.

At the time of the draft I was convinced the bolts were going to draft Seth Jones, thank goodness that didn’t happen.

Also imagine a strange alternative timeline where the bolts get the first or second overall pick where MacKinnon or Barkov end up as Bolts.

Let us never forget just how toxic of a little shit he was to our teams mental. All the skill in the world can’t replace the downward effect of that mentality.
