  1. "we are great players" *in the regular season. reality check Mitch, you aren't even considered among the greats in Toronto. I'll take Jarnkrok or even Reaves over you.

  2. Marner really needs to learn to read the room, nobody is looking at you like a god. You're a clown who is butter soft and doesn't show up when it matters most.

  3. Yall need to chill. Mitch was at fult in goal but not due to lack of effort. He played hard in every position pp pk 5 on 5. Wasnt the best player in the team but he was still a superstar. Boston is a good team and will force errors. Still time for change. Love ya Mitch but You are last of big boys to sign so makes sense your the change to the core 4

  4. Amazing that he calls upon the fact that they've been in this position before (losing in the first round) to suggest that anyone should have faith in their ability to get beyond the first round. It's Charlie Brown football logic.

  5. Looked at as a god LMFAO im a huge fan but Mitch i seen u as a scared turnover god

  6. Great player, just not built for the playoffs. He is more suited for the all stars competition.

  7. He loves this town for the fans and their deep passion for hockey. Sadly, no fans love him and he doesn’t realize that.

  8. Why does Marner got to be so whiney about everything. That demeanour shows on the ice and bench. ā€œThe Stanley cup is the hardest trophy to win for a reasonā€ā€¦ good attempt to excuse the trend of many years passed that is a lack of compete in the post season, and an undeniable hunger to win and excel. Great players rise up when the stakes are high. Imagine Hyman was in Toronto in place of Marner at half the cap hit. Though the leafs mismanagement probably would have buried Hyman in the minors or on the 4th line. Or if the leafs had better scouting and would have held onto Verhaeghe.

  9. We're Gods. We're great players? Gone in the first round 7 times in the last 8 playoffs? The stunning lack of self awareness and humility is mind boggling. Great people don't brag about being great. They just are. Their actions speak for themselves. Personally I think the Leaf jerseys next year should carry a shoulder patch of Carlton bear getting the Hiemlich maneuver from Harold Ballard. It stays on until you win the cup.

  10. Writings been on the wall since that columbus series years back… its pathetic they all stayed together this long honestly. It dont take a genious to see hesitant soft players…

Looked upon as gods LOL that was soooo good lol.

  11. He is way too cozy and complacent… it’s as if he believes losing in the playoffs is just an inevitable natural fact of life. It’s like he goes into autopilot during the finals, and his autopilot has been conditioned to accept that winning the cup is simply not meant to be…

I don’t think Mitch is a bad guy, and he’s obviously not a bad player – that’s what makes this so difficult, but I think his subconscious expects to lose at this point and I think the only way to factory reset him is to start over with a new team.

When you start believing that you’re ā€œa Godā€ in your city, but you routinely fall short of ā€œGod-likeā€ results, it’s
time to ship out… if he wasn’t receiving such an insane salary it wouldn’t matter as much, but 8 figure salaries should come with 8 points per series (at least).

  12. Just my opinion, but I think Marner needs to get away from the toxic environment in Toronto. He could probably benefit a great deal, just like Hyman did, by moving and learning how to play hockey the right way. Maybe depending on where he went?

  13. Nahhhhh the leaf team that wins a cup will be "godlike". Your half assed playoff performance was so ass its unforgettable, thats about as close to "gods" as yall will ever come.

  14. Hopefully he stays i can see everyone is hating on him but all players have a low point but i think all he needs to work on is coverage but good job to him

  15. they still love those Raptor players because they brought Toronto a championship. you did nothing Mitch. sorry God.

  16. If only they had the stubbornness to be winners on the ice the way they have the stubbornness to not admit they are losers during year-end media availability

  17. "Why do you think the Core 4 deserves another chance? Mitch: Ummm, because we're great players." There's your problem right there – he doesn't feel he has to prove anything. He is already "great"….Even Gretzky never considered himself a great player until he won a championship…I wasn't sold on Leafs fans saying he has to go, but listening to him here, I think he has to go.
