That Jake rental doesn't look like it's going to pan out for the Hurricanes even though he's played great.
I watch Guentzel in the playoffs and can't help but repeat wha I felt at the time of the trade…..Jake is a winner, his playoff goals per game is second best among active players…better than McDavid, MackInnon, Pastrnak,, Crosby, Malkin, Kucherov, Point….I can go on, he's continued that pace without Sid this offseason….guys like that aren't easy finds or easy gets….to have given him up (with no intention on getting him back at least how I feel)…….as someone who played high level sports, semi pro, and currently play pick up with a bunch of former pros, winners, you don't walk from them, these ex pros all say the same, the guys that have the DNA of being winners and big game performers, those guys you want to keep…..It's still upsetting to see him elsewhere
Thanks DK! That's great stuff to read and hear. It was always my sense that Dubas is a great, pretty open and honest communicator. They're not gonna be perfect, but it's encouraging he's on the same page with Sully. Also knowing this, it still blows my mind the way he handled the Jake trade. Maybe even more.

It’s hysterical, average age of our C is 36 years next season, and people talk about LD, LW, and other position where we have capable players. THERE IS NO ONE TO DRIVE OFFENCE in this team except one aging genius, who is by the ways is AGING.
Yeah, Sullivan needs to go. Even though they aren’t going to fire him it’s just not working anymore and it’s time for a change.
Hockey is so dynamic. Whenever any coach comes up with a new style, it either gets duplicated, or chewed up and spit out. A coach needs to change it up because everybody knows how to play the team that never changes. I don't accept loss, especially bad ones. That is why I am mad. A good team overcomes its problems and makes the other team work hard for a win. You are not good enough unless you expect to win every game. Sorry for the rant.

I think just watching how hockey is played these days <especially in the playoffs> it's pretty clear the Pens do not have the type of lineup that works. I was hoping that when Dubus came in he would see that and make wholesale changes in the team composition..What he did was acquire more players like we already had and not the kinds of players we need to be successful. Unfortunately I dont see a bright next season for the Pens. I would prefer to watch hockey being played Sullivan's 'right way' but that is just not how the game is being played these days IMO.
With the way the rangers series is going it looks like we won't be getting a first rounder.
Sully is stubborn, arrogant and overrated. His love for soff, overpriced, overaged 3rd and 4th liners killed this franchise. This man somehow had a long NHL career when he offered next to nothing for his team. And now he duplicating his same history as an HC. Sickening. The man has become a multimillionaire being below average as both a player and coach. He should be sued into oblivion for the scam he has committed to our economic system

Sullivan one of tbe best coaches in tbe game ???😂😂😂😂ya ok no playoff rd wins since 2018 …missed the playoffs 2 seasons in a row …one of the better players on earth at age 36 going on 37 ….still no signs of slowing down ….while sully may not be a bad coach ..hes not the right one for this team anymore and hasnt for a while now…enough is enough …its as if mediocre play is perfectly accepted now here ….any other team in sports he would have been fired ages ago

Consider that Dubus could hire Keefe as the head coach and even further mess up the Pens. I wouldn't put this past him..
If the conversation over goaltending went well, that's NOT a good sign. Sully will defend the #1 even if he's playing below a contract that Dubas presented. Thats exactly what Dubas wants to hear. He can't afford criticism with that signing

The team has more flaws than any coach could fix. Why Sullivan or Crosby would want to stay where they have no chance to win is beyond comprehension.
Resign Jake and another young defender
Reading all the comments with suggestions for the preferred position, I am kind of shocked that nobody is suggesting at least some kind of answer to the biggest problem of them all – the abysmal power play that we've been tortured to endure this whole season. Pleeeease, find a gritty net-front guy. I know that Patric Hörnqvists of this world don't grow on trees, but pleeeease, at least try to do something about it.
