Paul Maurice on How Panthers Are DISRUPTING Bruins In Playoffs | G3 Postgame Interview

The Panthers took a 2-1 series lead over the Bruins, clinching a commanding 6-2 victory, significantly aided by four power-play goals. Reflecting on the differences between their regular season and playoff performances against Boston, Panthers Coach Paul Maurice highlighted a crucial shift in strategy and intensity. He said, “The four Bruins games were our four best games in some ways, and we lost them all, but they came and played playoff hockey, and so did we.”

  1. After the MLSE presser earlier today, I saw Jeff Marek use these Panthers as a comparison to how the Loafs are constructed. Marek said when Panther GM Bill Zito took over in 2020, he had one criteria for any player he wanted to aquire: are you difficult to play against in the playoffs? They are. Like a club of 36-grit sandpaper. Sweeney's vision of the B's is not like this. It's Matt Grit-less, whom I hope they do not resign, it's Georgii Merkulov, it's Anthony Richard, it's Oscar Steen, it's the struggling Pavel Zacha. Hard to play against? No.

  2. Panthers can only score PPGs, don’t have any fans, boring team overall. TBL should be Florida's only team.

  3. Before the Bruins got Montgomery, this is the guy I wanted. He was a junior coach when the Hartford Whalers hired him and I had season tickets so I saw all the games.

  4. Can this guy ever answer a simple question without making weird faces and being straightforward? Why is everything so philosophical with him he’s like a professor

  5. Please, the series is far from over. Bs will win game 4 on Sunday and then it is the best of 3. These teams are close in talent and as to Maurice, he is not this great difference maker – he got bumped by the Penguins!

  6. Maurice and Laviolette would be a great coaching matchup in the East final. I believe it would be their first playoff meeting since 1997 when Esa Tikkanen scored at least one OT winner, maybe two for the Rangers. Most people thought Florida would win that series coming off the Stanley Cup Final appearance, but Gretzky, Messier and Leetch had other ideas.

  7. Although I always root against Florida no matter who they play, I actually like listening to Paul Maurice. He brings a measured, intellectual, if not philosophical reasoning in his responses and how he thinks things out about the game. He must have a lot of wisdom in that dome of his.

  8. Boston should just forfeit the rest of the series and save the franchise the embarrassment. They are in a rebuilding year and they are 4 players away from competing at this level. Florida is faster, and their puck handling is better than ours and the results reflect that. I think big changes are coming in Boston in both personnel and in on ice talent. Toronto would have played Florida better than we are.
