A Comprehensive Guide to *ALL 50* 2021-22 Upper Deck Extended Series Young Guns Hockey Rookies!

What’s up guys,

Mainely Hockey Cards here, and today, let’s go over the entire 2021-22 Upper Deck Extended Series Hockey Young Guns checklist. I’ve got to say, this crop is relatively solid with lots of mid-end talents and wild cards, even if most of the potential hasn’t been immediately realized.

I’ll be going over each Young Gun individually, as well as attaching a grade from F to A+ as my thoughts on their investment potential.

Thank you for your support and subscribe for more hockey card collecting and investing content!

  1. Was waiting for this, THANK YOU 😂😂 Love the vid and you’re in your element 😤🤝

  2. I'm watching Thomson since he played with Chabot when Ottawa had all their Covid problems in November and considering it was his 1st stint in the NHL playing top pairing he did well and had some chemistry with Chabot and if the Sens dont go out and get a top 4 RHD then Thomson could very well be playing top pairing with Chabot this year which could be key for his card values

  3. As a sealed box investment, which of the three series from this year do you think have the most potential?

  4. Extended YGs aren't an "investment" on any level. The way the market works is only top tier RCs garner all the speculation. Then the cards of anyone not named Kaprizov flatline. Kirill will too eventually, as his career totals will not be Top 50 because of his late NHL start. And increasingly, YGs are considered mass produced low-end RCs, notably because they are not auto'd and count in the multiple thousands, littering eBay. I mean, what's a Kaliyev YG, the most hyped extended card last year? A $3 card? So if ppl do want to speculate, they should consider other factors like big boys underproducing, big boy RCs in undervalued products, big market vs small market players, or undervalued legends. Also, Extended is an inserts product, not a YG crop one. This said, I really commend you for making these lists. I know how time consuming even basic research is. I like Daws so far, as well, notably because of his youth and places like NJD and BUF have revolving goalie situations. The key thing is 21-year0old goalies always have upside, as many only crack the NHL at 24-25. Michael Pezzetta is a crowd favourite in MTL because of his grit and work ethic. But I'm not high on him, as his skill level is zero.

  5. I don't know a lot about hockey but I've loved collecting young guns since the first UD hockey in 1990. This year every time I get any YGs, I watch your vids to get an idea about the quality of the player. Thanks for doing these. They are extremely helpful.

  6. I think Sean Durzi deserves an A rather than B+ based on the minutes and high leverage minutes that the LA Kings coaching staff gave him this year.

  7. You do a great job and I appreciate the comments and stats provided for each player. Thank you!

One recommendation, perhaps you can state at the beginning of your video what the grades mean. For example. A= potential all-star, B = potential NHL career, C = potential journeyman, etc.

  8. Great video, I always look forward to these. Can’t wait for the make up from the past December junior tournament starting this week, love watching the future stars.

  9. Hey mhk! You should do a sub with fcg grading they have recently lowered prices and changed the grading scale and I think you will lovvvveee it! 💯💯 thx for another awesome video!

  10. Thank you for these YG guide videos! They are super helpful and I appreciate the amount of work that goes into researching, creating, and editing them.
