Clean hit. Hitting hard is allowed in NHL hockey. Toews is actually really lucky, he was looking down at the puck and like a dummy was facing the boards.

Well to me it looked like he hit the shoulder and the head at the same time. I guess it's a legal hit but still pretty dangerous.
