You want your team to do their due diligence with this coaching search. He is available and despite what some will say is a good coach. Much like how Green was going to get interviewed. Its part of the process
I’m sure this comment section is going to be calm and rational.
Means that they also aren’t hiring anyone today. Nice to have some time to see how some chips may fall.
Better option then woodcroft one of us would be a better option than that.
This is clearly speculation and since Lebrun got let go by ESPN, he has not provided nor attempted to provide any insider information. All he does is provide empty commentary on the Canadian teams and say Oh mama
I wouldn’t mind the Devils hiring him at all.
As a Devils fan living in Toronto I wouldn’t mind the hire. He’s a good coach and not his fault all the Toronto superstars are soft.
Devils are a soft team too but I think he would do well without the media scrutiny. Devils will beef up a bit this off season for sure.
He did a good job in the regular season there at least. You’d hope the problems were with the players in Toronto and not him but who knows
Do not freak out yet, it is just talks and part of the process of finding the right fit. He just became available so of course Fitz is gonna want to see what he’s about, it does not mean he’s hired 100%.
If it turns into him getting hired, we can then freak out a little bit.
I wonder if Fitzy fed this to Lebrun to get a reaction out of Pittsburgh.
Worked out last time we grabbed a Toronto coach that couldn’t get it done in the playoffs up there. Just sayin….

Would’t worry too much about this. Every GM is gonna interview any coach let go. With Toronto now vacant we’re probably getting either Sully or Woodcroft.

Diligence is cool, but NO GOD PLEASE NO GOD
Out of coaches with 300+ games coached he has the highest points % of all of them. Obviously the playoff success wasn’t there and you can debate about how much/little of that is his fault but he is still a good coach.
I think Berube is the guy they need. Don’t care that players don’t like him. Coaching isn’t about being the coach’s friend. Players don’t like Torts but he gets results. Players hated Herb Brooks but he got results. I hated my drill sergeants but I’m sure as hell grateful for them. This team needs to reinstall a culture of toughness the organization always had, not this wimpy over analytics culture that has led to a whopping 2 playoff appearances in a dozen years!
Keefe will lead the Devils to the Stanley Cup said no one ever. Might as well bring in Babcock if your doing to do something mentally insane.
