You can hate the leafs, but that’s a classy send off. All the best to Keefe.

Very classy goodbye–definitely has a good agent/pr team
ShartRat
Wait a minute that doesn’t look like a golf course. Seems pretty fake to me for a Leafs coach sendoff. Â

Class move. No hate from me. I can’t imagine what it’s gotta be like trying to coach a team where half your cap goes to 4 players, two of which were out for significant parts of the series, and one, by literally every account, severely underperformed. Not sure what he is like as a coach, in general, but that alone is something I sure as hell wouldn’t want to have to deal with. All the best to him
Edit. I’m waiting for the camera to zoom out and have him say “Now watch this drive!”

Classy and Sincere…Well Done
seef_nation
I was waiting for him to wipe away a tear with $100 bill haha.
In all seriousness, classy move and looks relieved and happy to be honest.
seef_nation
Is he on Kyle’s boat? Is that why he thanked him first?
Odd_Philosopher1712
Tbh, I have no idea who can handle the toronto media and star players eloquently enough to be an adept coach for the leafs.
Novus20
So this I prior to MLSE jettisoning him and Shanny into Lake Ontario right…….right!!!

Yeah, even this right here is indicative of a big part of the issue. Between Marner’s “we’re looked at like gods” comment and this farewell address it’s a sense that they’re special in TO. Obviously Keefe seems nice and sincere here, but it’s all part of way too much pumping up who and what they are. And it’s hard for anyone not to crack under that load, over and over, and over again. And over again. Without end, for all eternity.

That looks like a happy and relieved man

That was a great send off. I feel gross typing that, ew.

Classy and human. Seems like a good dude.

This doesn’t make up for being a whiny little b|tch when behind the bench. He’s going to say these things now because he wants to be considered for the next coaching gig.

Class
O-D-C
fun fact: back in Feudal Japan, NHL headcoaches who didn’t win a cup had to perform Seppuku at centre ice

I was hoping he was going to end it like George Bush and hit us with a “Now watch this cast” as he starts fishing.
AirborneMarburg
He’ll be an assistant coach in Pittsburgh. He seems like a really good guy, and good coach for younger players.
AfterAd7618
Although he didn’t get it done, it’s not all on him. He tried, he cared, and seems like a class individual who only wanted the best for his team and his players. Gotta respect that, and wish him nothing but the best, wherever he ends up, as long as it’s not against us.
partmoosepartgoose
Not a terrible coach, just the wrong coach. It was a dumb dubas decision to hire Keefe for his first NHL coaching gig as a head coach of a potential cup contender.
