Finally! After 20 games, it has finally happened. Nils Lundkvist finally scored his first NHL goal! It was well deserved and I am glad he got a goal (now Reaves and Nemeth need to get a goal). It’s too bad the celebration got ruined by the worst goalie debut in Ranger history. Why was it a good idea to call up Adam Huska and not Keith Kinkaid? And why was it a good idea to play Huska against the Avalanche?? Why couldn’t he start against the Blackhawks and have Georgiev play against the Avalanche?? Huska gave up 7 goals, which is tied for the most goals given up by a Rangers goalie in his debut. 5 of them were in the 2nd period (although one of them was our own fault and not Huska’s fault). And despite that, we kept him in for the 3rd period instead of putting in Georgiev. If only Georgiev or Kinkaid played last night, we would be giving up less goals, and we could have had a chance to come back (or at least take the game to overtime). On the bright side, at least we got Buffalo next, so I hope we can start winning again.
