Another stellar year from Sid. He's a remarkable athlete. Every shift is gold. Not sure when he will hang up the blades, but the good news is, he will be a big part of hockey for many years to come as a coach or GM.. Brilliant hockey mind.
I counted them out after the Colorado game. They were 10 back at the time from the wild card spot. They had a good run towards the end getting 19 of 24 possible points. They just could not figure out the power play. There was too many turnovers and too many breakaway chances for the opposing teams. Them not being able to keep leads sometimes with 3 or 4 goal leads was so frustrating. The core played well and kept themselves in a lot of games. There was also some memorable moments. The 12 round shootout against Montreal was crazy. Sidney Crosby doing Sidney Crosby things. Malkin's parents wiping tears of pride and joy. The team in the organization will have plenty of time to think about next year and how to fix and fill those holes that sank the ship
Again he proved that age is a number just like his stats, so long as hes breathing, he will keep clawing to victory, no matter the odds. This is what makes him a Top 3 nhl player all time and the greatest hockey player the sport ever witnessed
It's really kind of a nightmare and total disaster that of the 4 teams that were fighting for the last playoff spot exactly the worst team managed to get there. It's amazing how that could happen. The Washington Capitals are the last team that deserved to be in the playoffs. It should have been Detroit or the Penguins. The Flyers ruined everything in 2 weeks which was amazing. They lost 8 games in a row I think. And the Penguins had all momentum. It's a disaster they didnt make it. Even worse for the Red Wings who actually should be in the playoffs after failing 7 or 8 years. And here comes Tortarella and takes the goalie out of the game. Tortarella gave the Capitals a free win and he robbed the Red Wings. Why? There was no reason to take the goalie out, he knew the Flyers had almost no chance. He just could have asked an assistant about the score in the Detroit game. But no, instead he ruined all playoff hopes for Detroit. Unbelievable. What a disaster that the Red Wings and Penguins are not in the playoffs. But Crosby is really a phenomenon. In my opinion he is like a Lebron James of the NHL.

Tbh I’d rather see the penguins in the playoffs than the capitals. At least Pittsburg games are fun to watch. If you have trouble sleeping go watch a Washington game, you’ll be out like a light in a few minutes. Lol
Any team (that’s you Lemieux) that would employ a Matt Cooke and hold your head high is testament to a shameless organization.Sadly you are not alone though.Anything to win a championship eh ! Kinda like Gretzky hiding behind the antics of cement heads like Simenko and mcsorley.Pure class eh !
Here’s one for ya Pens nation, one of your alumni namely Paul “Jaun” Coffey once said when asked about the comparison between Crosby and that #99 character said this..”you can’t mention Gretzky and Crosby in the same sentence” and that was in an interview in the presence of Gordie Howe.He demonstrated no respect for Sidney and that tv interview incidentally was conducted in Sidney’s home town in NovaScotia.Unbelievable.When referring to Gordie in that interview, he would call him “Mr. Howe”.He sucked up to Gordie but had the audacity to throw Sid to the curb.Coffey was born in Ontario…that explains it eh. Canadian eh ! Here’s what I would say to Mr Coffey,”you can’t mention Ted Lindsay and Paul Coffey in the same sentence”.Ted Lindsay was born in Ontario and Carl Brewer was as well.Lindsay of course instrumental in organizing the union for NHL players and Brewer was the driving force in battling the NHL for underfunding retired players.Lindsay was aghast when none of the big stars showed up for Brewer’s funeral after his passing.Lindsay called them out for their lack of respect in an interview I witnessed as well.Shameful.That generation of Lindsay and Brewer and Parks to name only a few knew respect. It can be said that respect may be lacking today but that can’t be said about a man named Sidney Crosby.Sidney is all about respect and stands in no one’s shadow.Number 87 stands alone.
Lifelong Caps fan and I hope the entire NHL community will recognize just how amazing Crosby’s season was this year. The fight for the playoffs was incredibly entertaining, but nobody stood out with the gut and determination like Syd. Quite simply, the last person and team I’d want my Caps facing in the playoffs were these guys. Let’s do it again next year boys!

This is your Hart winner, folks. Crosby carried the Pens all season and down the stretch, stopping just short of making the playoffs.
Sid, what a legend.
Kyle Dubas thanked high salaried Jeff Carter for retiring. Next should be trading Crosby, Karlsson, Letang, and Malkin but his owner bosses said “no”.

Lets Go Pens 🐧

Best team March 20th onward, lol who cares.
sid the shit
Join the Canucks and bring us a cup. Just putting it out there.
Sadly it’s only downhill from here on out for Sid and the Pens.
Nova Scotia boys are all heart. See ya in Cole Harbour soon, Sid.

Come finish it with the upstart Habs next year Sid. You know you want to.
Not to worry Pens fans your new GM will have them finally making the playoffs, only to exit the first round. Ex Maple Leafs fan here
I think its time for sid the kid to ask for a trade to give him a spark for his career. Hes done all he can for pittsburgh.

If Sid' got over guentzel a couple games sooner, they would've been in playoffs
Dubas made a mess and he will continue to make a mess of this team, I feel bad for them
Get outta there for the last few seasons. He deserves another solid playoff run.
Sid had another banner year ! Nothing but class from our captain!!.
A few years back I flew Crosby from NHL Awards in Vegas to LA. Got to talk hockey with him for about 30 minutes. Class act.

I’m surprised he hasn’t retired and put this joke, they call the NHL behind him. Go fishing and a few rounds of golf. He’s earned it

Bruins fan. Who wouldn't gladly take this guy on their team? Here's to you, Mr Crosby!
Sid Is No Longer a Kid, but The Pens will make The Playoffs next season.
You will never win anything with Dubas running the show
