Stuart Skinner Shuts The Door As Edmonton Oilers Take 3-1 Series Lead
The Oilers Fanatic gives you the rundown on the game!! #Oilers #EdmontonOilers #LetsGoOilers #StanleyCupPlayoffs #2024StanleyCupPlayoffs #StuartSkinner #EvanBouchard
Morning Patrick and Mike from Germany, here it is 7:20am and I am supporting my team since 4:15am today. My smile is big and will not go out of my face! No goal for California!!! Skinner was an unbeatable wall in this game and the team tested playoff defense system for higher opponents successfully. Cheers from sunny and warm Germany, play la Bamba! ๐๐๐๐
Who hoo! Unreal performance from Skinner! Amazing win in the always pivotal game 4 with only 13 shots! Just to rant, I canโt believe how many missed calls the refs had against us in the third. Kane in the corner, Doughty on McDavid at the blue line, exact same play when the d man pulled Mc Davidโs shoulder racing to cancel icing. Pretty embarrassing on the refs.
Great game tonight indeed!!! love that skinner got the shutout, and our defense played their game to get us this win!! We got the win for Perry's 200th playoff game.!! I will add that this was a tie for the franchise record for the fewest shots in a playoff game with 13.
I am super proud of the boys and their ability to handle that kind of diversity!! #letsgooilers!!
Awesome game while having breakfast in the land of smiles. Close it out Wednesday night. Stew was awesome and the rest of the team supported his shutout.
I disagree that LA was the better team tonight. They worked their asses off and still lost. Oilers put on a defense clinic and LA never really had any grade A chances.
Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the LA Kings. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments at the end.

Oilers proved they can win a 1-0 game and hold a single goal game lead for over a period. Riddich did better than Talbot in net (though the guys in front of him probably were playing better too). MUCH MUCH more disciplined game with each team getting 1 power play (that the Oilers converted on and the Oilers PK stayed at 100% by denying the Kings). Oilers now lead the series 3-1 and head back home for game 5 in Edmonton on Wednesday (so a longer break to give a bit more recovery time or work on little things). As Bouchard said in the postgame, they didn't take ANY Shortcuts. One more to round two. Now just to win it. Take care all.
The only downside in this game was the poor condition of the ice which could have been avoided if the Superintendant of the building had lowered the temperature within the arena but that would have annoyed some of the fans who weren't used to a cool climate. So, why doesn't Bettman and Company step in and order all teams to ensure a good ice surface or would this annoy some of the owners of American based teams that are located in hot climates? This is absolutely absurd!
Love to have been at the watch party buy living on the west coast I will have to wait for round 2 Edmonton and Vancouver. Thanks for your update Patrick ๐

Skinner's going to be thankful for the extra day of rest before game 5… holy Hannah, what a performance.
Great defensive play especially with Skinner making all those wonderful saves! Go oilers
worth staying up in the east coast to watch this nerve-racking beauty of a game From Washington DC, LFG Oilers!!!!
i glad i was able to meet you i was the guy that oilers hat white and orange shoulders my name was James
Oilers almost tied Canucks for fewest shots in a playoff win – all time. Weird the top two of that happen in the same year and only 2 nights apart!
