Truthfully I’m not sure if this means much of anything but it’s an interesting observation.

Just based on cap math Marty is gone regardless of whether or not he walks or hangs up the skates
Stephenson is the odd man out in a game of “oops too many centers”
Mantha got healthy scratched when it mattered most
Carrier is weird in that he plays a very physical game that analytics and the eye test loves. Unfortunately, that comes at a heavy cost in that it makes him more susceptible to injury. Who’s to say this year with him battling constant injuries won’t become the new norm for Carrier. Could see him coming back, could see him being moved on from.
Amadio I thought played well and I think if Pavel truly isn’t ready to take a step forward, Ammo is one of the guys who did step up when his number was called. Seems like he’s a good depth piece to keep around but his price tag is the only unknown.

As an outsider, I think you guys will find a way to keep marchessault. Martinez is a great locker room guy, but he’d aging. Stephenson can be replaced by Hertl, Mantha does not have enough speed to fit that lineup, and I think Amadio will return. You’ll be in an ok spot

I want back Marchy and Amadio. Resigning Marchy is obvious. Amadio is one of the most underrated players on this team and was one of the few players who clearly played for his life game in and game out.

I mean… we all know Marty and Stevo are more than likely goners, and Mantha was always a rental.
Marchy is a must-keep for me – Carrier and Ammo depend on cost/term, but I’d prefer keeping Carrier.
