The Avs are getting no respect from ESPN

1 person picked the Avs in 5, 1 in 6, and the others picked the Avs in 7. But 17 of the 24 “experts” picked the Stars. I think everyone is in for a rude awakening. Go Ass! Hail Satan!

Perfect. Give us that sweet sweet bulletin board material

  2. kcoch5817

I would guarantee 90% of the names on this list don’t even watch the sport. They see the Stars are the higher seed and are going with them.

  3. beerbeatsbear

Let them bet against us. I prefer us being the underdogs in their eyes. We know what we have cooking

  4. AMaliciousWatermelon

What people don’t know is that Ryan S. Clark is a savant when it comes to picking the winners of nhl playoff series. So I’m going to ignore the consensus and just treat his prediction as truth lol

  5. ThunderGoalie35

I’d rather be the team that “surprises” all these fools anyway. Last year we got picked to smash the Kraken and that blew up in our face, be the underdog and win, why not

  6. It’s ESPN, their opinions on hockey don’t matter.

  7. arashinoko

These hacks just look at the standings and phone it in because they don’t actually know anything.

  8. AuntGentleman

Avs are the only lower seed in the first round to win their series. We really wanna play this game again?

  9. PlunkstonRutherford

    That’s fine. Let them underestimate

  10. kovalev23

Oh no! Both Messier and PK? But I respect their opinions so much…

  11. awesomeness1234

I get that they are a better team, and that I am deeply biased, but when I watch the Avs play vs. the Stars, it is clear who the better playoff team is. I have a scary level of confidence.

  12. quaglandx3

Fuck what LebronSports Network thinks about anything.

  13. 2ChainzTalib

What else is new? Most of them have it being a long series, so they’re taking the home ice team.

  14. Lazy-Beginning-2483

They got no respect when they played Winnipeg. They just have to keep shutting them up by winning and making them look stupid.

  15. PossessionGlad4638

A few of them would rather just watch the Avs burn. Then you have Leah whos favorite team we just smoked. This list means nothing lol

  16. Holiday_Flow_7400

After begrudgingly listening to the ESPN commentators for the past two weeks I would be more worried if they had picked us to win. They’ve been delusional and inept in almost every aspect of announcing and commentating playoff hockey so far.

  17. ockhamsphazer

If the stars play like they did last night I say we get the brooms out

  18. Talinn_Makaren

We’re the most underrated wagon of a team ever. Georgiev had a weak end to the season and everyone decided the Avs suck.

  19. satngumyo

Nate loves being the underdog. We play hard when “humble”. See Jets series. This is all part of the script.

  20. Hakuchansankun

Denver is still a cow town. I like that.

  21. porkchopespresso

Stars in 6 or Stars in 7 is a pretty “safe” pick if you’re one of these people that is looking that are touting their playoff pick records or betting. If you just look at seeding, home ice and goal tending it makes sense to lean towards Dallas. For us as fans it might just be a little wakeup that we’re in for a tough series, for anyone that thought we’d dispatch them as easily as the Jets.

  22. allkindsofgainzzz

Good. ESPN sucks anyway. Boys will be ready to cook.

  23. Waste_One_1473

Perfectly fine. We’ve beem the favorite so often the last several years, it is nice to be the underdog

  24. Don’t care for them. Underdog, whatsupdog don’t matter. Nate dawg in 6

  25. mikess101

Let em keep picking against us, we saw how that worked out last round. The Stars barely got through an old, injured, slow, impotent Vegas team. Recency Bias is a thing, and everyone is jazzed about that Game 7, but the Avs are cookin right now, and our depth and superstars are ready to rock. ESPN can keep over-valuing the Stars all they want, Avs in 6. Arda Ocal is invited to the cookout though.

  26. ilovedeliworkers

Were they watching that Vegas/Dallas series?

  27. detached03

I read one “preview” of someone, I forget now which makes my story less exciting, but they mentioned how much better Dallas’s Defense is and goaltending than Winnipeg’s has been all season.

The kicker on the column was that game 3-4 were being played at the Pepsi Center.

  28. sakicno19

That’s actually great less pressure being the underdog

  29. frostyjack06

Have you watched the ESPN broadcast? Most of the time I wonder if we’re even watching the same game when they give their intermission commentary.

  30. SlapChop7

It’s actually crazy how everyone has seemingly written off the Avs. I see most bracket picks with Dallas/Edmonton vs Flordia/NYR. Did everyone miss that this Avs team is essentially thecup winning team with a number of great 3rd/4th line pickups? Firing on all cylinders?

  31. Useful_Particular_80

Espn is just a bunch of bullshit when they talk about hockey. Sorry but 2 minutes in and I’m already on Altitude

  32. KyleMacBean42

I love that so many analysts are out here picking Dallas. Keep underestimating the Avs. Fuel their fire! 🔥

  33. keithlaub

I think the real takeaway is that everyone expects this to be a hell of battle, and I can’t say I disagree with them.

  34. PhredInYerHead

We don’t need any respect from anyone. We just need the cup and to let the haters hate.

  35. Rare-Lifeguard516

well, we just got to show them, right boys? Go Avalanche, All In

  36. COphotoCo

Anyone who picks 7 is saying it’s a coin toss and they don’t know
