  1. No, no and heck no!!! All it takes is one bad attitude like Marner to ruin the culture and growth the Habs are trying to build!

  2. Montreal has a conditional pick with Calgary (10th ) and Habs needs a pick so they should offer one of the 12 + D or trade ables and picks and get the condition removed. Pick 10 would allow enough to fill our needs to become a contender and get a Lindstrom. Iginla or a Demidov. We need 2 picks to round out our team and this could be the way to get it. Suzuki, Lindstrom and Cole. Dach Slaf, and Mesar Newhook, Roy, Iginla, and Beck, Evans and Armia as the ultimate 4th line.

  3. They are not trading a star withing the division….that alone is the reason why this will never happen even if there's many other reason to boy acquire him.

  4. Ken Hughes loves small and soft player. Send Marner to Habs.

    Marner ($3M retension), 1st 2024 + prospect for Guhle

  5. The only trade that I could see that would make sense would be Marner with 50% retained for MM straight up. But I hope that they don't trade for Marner, as bad as he was this season, I would prefer PLD. That kinda says it all.

  6. I’d pay money to post “The Office” Noooooo meme. He is 100 point guy with Matthew’s, he gave up skating on that last play game 7 in OT. If we got him for free I’d say no. Toxic is Toxic

  7. I think in a different teamwith a good culture and leaders and not be the first star minner could had succes. Toronto have a culture of individual player and loser. Currently habs still retain the culture created from weber and price from the 2021 cup run.

  8. Marner is resurrected in Montreal with St Louis and the core 👿😈👹… 7.95 million 4 years.. trade for Mailloux and Josh Anderson and trow a pick in there 🥕

    Slaf 7.8

But first we win the lottery

  9. Toronto will not trade Marner to Mtl. The whole team sucks in the playoffs for the leafs so only blaming Marner makes no sense. Maple leafs record since 2018 in potential series clinching games are as follow. record 1-11 – goal/game 2.00 – Goals against/game 3.17 – PP 4 % – PK 72% – save percentage .899 don't care which team you are you will never win with those poor numbers across the board.

  10. I would pass on Marner, not a fit. By the way Habs Digest is way better than Leafs Digest… 🙂

  11. Montreal Canadien always takes in the unwanted players, than trade them. Time to stop this 💩 and move on with our prospects.

  12. All the rumours ?! You guys are amateurs. Quit pretending you’re serious. You’re kids playing on the internet

  13. Matthews is going nowhere
Tavares will resign after next season for a HUGE hometown discount
Nylander doesent have passion unless he is looking for a contract
Marner will be a hard sell for the leafs. He is a great regular season player, but when playoffs come he doesn't hold up to the physicality.
Montreal needs a Tom Wilson type character not a Marner type

  14. 10.5 million for 30 goals and no playoff points with a 5 year contract is way too expensive – no way.

  15. It would just cost too much to acquire Marner in terms of our young prospects and players….BESIDES, there are a TON of established NHL players the Habs COULD look at but I dont see the NEED/Urgency at THIS point in the Habs rebuild to disrupt ALL the work/time they have invested in this current prospect pool. Plus, Marner has proved, yet again, he is only good in the regular season. That is something the Habs should steer well clear of now.

  16. Zach Hyman: $7,500,000-7 goals
Auston Matthews, William Nylander, John Tavares, Mitch Marner: $45 million- 6 goals

  17. WHO CARES WHERE HE GOES AS LOMG AS HES GONE HES POSION TO ALL!!! SEND FAR FSR AWAY!!! TRADE HIM NOW!!!

  18. Wait a year, and if he's UFA then make an offer that works for you…chance of panning out, 1%, that's fine. Why give up quality assets? You'd get him to get INTO the playoffs, and then move him down the line after you make it.

  19. Marner would be sick! He would be incredible under MSL. Also it’s wild to think that people are picky about offensive player. Marner would instantly become our best forward and take this team to another level.

  20. Should be the same level of quality player for player in any trade, so I say Harris for Marner. And TML retain 50 percent of his Hindenburgh salary.

  21. MARNER NEVER CARED, EMOTIONLESS, HEARTLESS, ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!! TRADE NOW
    KEEFE,
    SHANAHAN
    TREVLING
    FIRE NOW!!!
    TRADE NOW!!!!

  22. Tavares at 50% retained? resign him around 5-7 for 2-3 years to wear the A and be the veteran heading our 2nd or 3rd line into the playoffs. There are obviously better options but it's always fun to speculate.

  23. Thank you kind Leafs fans for turning to the Habs to solve your problems. We are obliged to tell you that we are not available at the moment because we are busy building a champion team in our historical tradition. We are champions at heart, Sorry not available…

  24. John Tavares and Leafs first round pick for Yolenen. Salary dump for leafs and they get a forward that might actually help that sad sack franchise. That's if leafs can get any of their players to drop their NMC.

  25. We don’t need cry babies on the Habs. We need a goal scoring team leader. And definitely NOT PLD. Nylander, Matthew’s,McKinnon or Landescog.

  26. I think people are way too hard on Marnar, he’s not the only one that had a brutal playoffs.
    Jesse is right about Marnar.
Leafs should trade Matthews to Utah for Keller and Coullie

  27. The only Leaf i would trade for is Nylander. Our 1st round 5th pick, 2 D and a G for 50% of his salary. Also, the best comment about the Leafs I've seen is "You can't spell the Leafs without the L!"

  28. Marner makes too much for the Habs, and is a bit small for big time playoff success. He gets points but we have too many Smurfs. Leafs need a new coach, someone who can re-balance Mathews. His ego and 70 goal project became a distraction. It reminds me of Ovie and the Caps. delaying progress towards team re-build and balance. Regardless, Woll needs to be conditioned for more injury free play and be the #1.

  29. Here's something to ponder :
First 2 pointers for the 2015-2016 London Knights (OHL)
    Christian Dvorak C 59 52 69 121 27 56 18 14 21 35 4 IL: Palos Heights 19
    Mitch Marner R 57 39 77 116 68 45 18 16 28 44 8 ONT: Markham 18

Maybe reuniting Marner with Dvorak would awaken the magnificent centre Christian Dvorak was supposed to become? He never was well surrounded in Arizona and we have Dvorak for one more year, right? That would be the only logical reason to bring him in IMO, Marner's UFA after next season, so depending on results, if they are good and Dvorak reuniting with Marner like it was for Drouin rejoining MacKinnon, we could then keep both, a slightly higher salary for Dvorak, and just another one season at say 7.5 million + performance bonus + making playoffs bonus for Maner. Then after that, if they do well together in 2024-2025, I say keep em both… but if after 2025-2026 (or during the season), it would've turned out to be a one season fluke, no big deal, we only signed Marner for one season and raised Dvorak's value on the market. So one or both could be traded in the 2025-2026 season afterwards. Dvorak has that robotic face but I've seen him smile plenty when he was with the Knights, he's very frustrated not to play in a playoffs team (the one time he made playoffs with Arizona, he was good, that's why Habs got him) and never had wingers to connect with, so he started to be a defensive forward out of necessity in MTL.

That's the only scenario I would contend with. That chemistry with those 2 together isn't deniable and unlocking Dvorak to his actual potential would be just the icing on the cake. Something to think about anyways…
