It’s a bit hypocritical for Peter Laviolette to be upset at Adam Pelech when Rempe has been a wrecking ball for months.

  1. Rempe has played less than 6 minutes in 3 games against the Devils, and got kicked out of all 3 games…talk about predatory

  2. It's the same hypocrisy as brady tachuck going after the guy for sliding the Puck in the net after the whistle, yet he found it hilarious when his own player took a slapshot into an empty net against the leafs

  3. I’m from Saskatchewan, touch Mika, and this place is a dance hall. And do we owe Barzal a rough ride now? LaV was exaggerating the situation, but he wasn’t wrong about it. I think of Brian Boyle and Matt Carkner … that was perfection.

  4. The league has a problem and it’s this weird inability to utilize fighting properly in games which has led to so much of this nonsense. It’s not that the fights haven’t lost their weight, but there were a few reasons why people started whaling on each other. Cheap hit on a dude, plowing into the goalie, hit on a rookie or marquees player and he game was getting chippy and your two goons come out and start beating the piss out of each other. Now, it’s just random clean hits in the middle of a game and some reasonably talented player is busting his hand up for the first time for absolutely no real reason. And then other times you have people getting lit up and no one’s doing a thing. Fighting needs to get back to why it exists and one thing it needs to do is no helmets. Does that mean you have the dudes wearing a padded dome cap under the helmet? Maybe. Does it mean screw it, you fight, you waive liability? Maybe. But if you cut out the stupid fights that mean nothing and start having hired goons policing the league, maybe we can make hockey work again.
