Pietrangelo roughing on Seguin – Have your say!

Alex Pietrangelo smacked Tyler Seguin hard in the face, possibly in retribution for an earlier hit to the head by Seguin on Shea Theodore. Pietrangelo was originally given a major penalty for elbowing but after review it was reduced ro a minor. Is that the right decision? Have your say!

  1. I think this was the right call. I don't think there's a stipulation about bleeding in a roughing call. They thought it was an elbow or a stick when they called the major

  2. How is it 4 minutes if you draw blood on a high stick but not a punch lol? Especially since most high sticks are accidents and it’s pretty hard to accidentally punch someone.

  3. How is this not a game misconduct? It was blatant, and I would get it if it was accidental, but this is intentional, obvious, and malicious. This is not a hockey play. I hope the league reviews it, otherwise I think it'd be pretty encouraging for other players to just sucker-punch random players they don't like, take a minor 2min penalty, and call it a day. Especially if you're losing badly – why not just sucker punch practically everybody on the team, and have no consequences?! Crazy this was just a minor penalty. Would love to hear what Tough-call youtube guy has to say about this, maybe I'm missing something obvious. 🙂

  4. Considering how often players get 4 or 5 minutes for drawing blood on an accidental high stick, this needs to be 4 or 5 minutes for drawing blood on an intentional – and low class – sucker back-hand.

  5. It's not a high sticking penalty where the bleeding would matter. But it should've been a double minor due the intent to injure. Ahhhhhh playoff hockey!! Go STARS!!

  6. Again, in the post-season it seems like different standard. Definitely a penalty, but 5 min major? Not so sure about that to be honest.

  7. That's pretty blatant right there with the backhand swat, however it's also pretty blatant how some of these "tough hockey players" turn into napkins at the slightest touch. 2 for roughing, 2 for embellishment.

  8. As a vegas fan we dont put up with someone hurting our players if he didnt elbow Shae Theodore maybe alex wouldn't have back handed him. Karma is a bitch.

  9. Cheap shot from a low class jerk. And Theodore should be in Hollywood for his acting job. If he got hit so hard, why no concussion protocol? They are a reflection on their team, and not a good one.

  10. If player safety wasn't a joke he'd be suspended. But the golden injured reserves got away with it and you know the league was pissed dallas scored on that pp.

  11. it was the right call as a neutral fan… if the league wants to change the rules of drawing blood from getting punched then people have an argument

  12. In last year's playoffs he tried to chop Draisaitl's hands off. This sort of thing seems like a habit, and repeat offenses should draw more assertive punishments.
