I loved it when Zucc did it, so I have to respect it when Kuznetsov does it. Of course now I've jinxed it and he's somehow going to get multiple penalty shots against the Rangers next round just to make me eat my words.

This is the exact purpose of the shootout. To force the action. It's unfair to the goalie and that's why the goals don't count as 'goals against'.
you could put a time limit in a penalty shot or shootout attempt of when the player touches the puck to when they have to shoot it. Maybe give them 15 or 20 seconds from touching the puck to having to shoot it
Why does anyone hate on this, I don’t get it😂😂 As long as it’s within the rules, players should have freedom to do whatever method they want in a penalty shot. It’s their shot. And penalty shots are all about advantage. Take any sort of advantage wherever you can find it. If this works for him then he should do it. I get ppl might get annoyed at how slow and think he’s trolling, but he’s clearly doing it for a reason. He’s making sure he finds his opening and meanwhile he’s making the goalie impatient to try and force him into a mistake and/or get him to bite. This clip is the perfect example of that
I always love pro athletes finding loopholes to subjective rules like “making forward progress”. If they wanna fix the Kuzy Crawl, creating like a 5-7 second “shot clock” of sorts from the moment the puck is touched would be the easiest way to love it for the most part

the crawl is fine. there are bigger fish to fry rules wise. If you gave me the chance to make one rule change in the NHL. I would set a limit on time for reviews. If a play is close enough that like 30 seconds of looking at the tape doesn't show some obvious issue with the call on the ice it wasn't close enough to matter let the call on the ice stand.
