    Not too surprising. But I wonder if he’ll actually play for SKA this year.

  2. Damn so that’s 2 years on top of next year as well

    That takes him through his age 23 season so the earliest we see him is as he turns 24 in 2027

    What the hell is a 2-way contract in the KHL? Do they have 2-tier salary system like in North America? Is he playing in lower leagues too?

    The way I see it, this is not a bad thing. Until he can lock down a top six spot in the KHL he’s not ready to come over. It’s telling that he signed a 2-way contract. Hope is far from lost, but he has a lot of developing yet to do.

  5. It seems like he has always played in a league lower than you’d like, or a role lesser than you’d think.

    As tantalizing as his skill set is, I’ve been a little concerned about his deployment ever since we drafted him. Not that I’ve seen him play outside of highlights, but if he is THAT good, why does he always seem so far away from the NHL?

    Hope this is good for him, but it’s just another thing that tempers my expectations.
