Seattle missed the playoffs after a surprise run last season. Which storyline was more accurate, the 2023-23 run or the 2023-24 playoff miss?

At least you waited for the coach to be fired this time š
The timing is really odd, unless they have someone in mind and are worried someone might be aiming for their guy. Rod the Bod is off the table.
It feels like their current ceiling is a 1st round upset like last year. They have bunch of guys in there late 20s early 30s so i think theyll compete for the playoffs but they need their prospects to take over at some point.
Im just so excited to have a team.
God, I wish I'd bought one of those sweaters. When the lawsuit is inevitably settled with the Metropolitans dude, I hope we make it our third.
Unrelated to the video, but I would love to see a daily (or semi-daily) video of you doing the hockey āimmaculate grid.ā I bet youād kill it most days!
A coaching change is a step in the right direction. Maybe that's all they'd need along with a few trades.
I think, as a Kraken fan, we need to be patient with the players. I do agree with firing Hakstol as heās held the team back in a lot of ways, but weāll see what happens. Iām more excited for our future players like Firkus and Nelson to make it to the show
They are struggling as a expansion franchise to win
Last year, Seattle benefited from almost all of their players having a career years, the UFA's demanded too much money because of that, and now almost all of the remaining players had down years.
I worried in the off season last year that their unexpected success had set expectations for this season too high. Then this season seemed not only to have a normal regression but also some extraordinarily ill-timed injuries to key players every time it looked like maybe they were getting their mojo back.
I don't know what to make of Hakstol's firing. Part of me feels that he's being scapegoated, but there are rumors that some important players let it be known in exit interviews that they didn't want to stay if he was kept on, so who knows? Some of his decisions at times did seem odd.
Part of what was so fun last year was that the success seemed to be a total team effort, not one star player & his support squad and I would love to see that return next year.
Joey Daccord got overplayed and burnt out. Hopefully not as many injuries next season. Need some free agents to help goal scoring!
I think the 90-95 point range is a fair estimation for the Kraken. If they can maintain their goaltending and get closer to league average in shooting that probably translates to 10 more points and if they get a breakout year from someone or sign a top talent like Reinhart, Guentzel, etc and they deliver thatās probably another 5 points bringing them up to mid 90s and competing for a wildcard spot
They're probably only a couple of offense oriented players away from being a respected team again. It's going to be interesting to see who they come up with as a coach as it will depend on how he does or doesn't put things together.
Not sure why it makes sense to fire coach
After all they are in year 3 only
And as a Philly fan not exactly convinced of Hakstol
He is a bit awkward
A big concern I noticed from following the team was just how much the team checked out and didnāt give a crap after the trade deadline. There were even reports of some players chuckling on their way back to the locker room after losing in OT to the Coyotes. And even when they won games, not only was it often against bad teams, but Shane Wright was basically carrying that team while he was here. The leadership structure was fractured this season, and that has to be addressed this offseason.
They better get to kraken š¤
If Shane Wright gets a regular spot in the lineup for sure they have a chance. McCann would love to have him on his line Iām sure
