Feel like pulling my hair out every game trying to watch us generate shots on net 😂
Posts are being manually approved by the mods, I see.
Just think, teams that played the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Wild in the 90s and 00s were able to hit the net more than the Canucks against the defensive juggernaut of the Nashville Predators.
The offence is a disgrace.
That will happen when your go-to play is shooting pucks high or wide for tips.
Preds game 2 strategy of blocking everything has completely gotten to the Canucks’ head.
Why do you guys think it’s such a struggle for us to get shots on net?
They are more aggressive with Demko and focus more on defense with backups. It’s got its pros and cons.
I’m no hockey analyst, but I think it would be good if we got more pucks through and also stopped missing wide.
dont worry, tocchet will make zero adjustments
Two plays that stuck out to me- on the Zadorov goal Saros was cheating towards pass because he knows its a pass first team. But before that a Nashville defensemen made a dive through the crease when Mikheyev had the puck alone in the slot. I don’t know if he dived to try to save a goal from Mikheyev as much as it was to take away the pass, because they know the Canucks are a pass first team.
I’d like to see them not try to make the perfect pass to set up the perfect play and just shoot the puck at the net, hard.
35 shots in a 5-2 rout to win in 6, incoming
Most important stat line is 3 wins to 2. Clearly improvements can be made but let’s not forget the bottom line
Tocchet has us playing tight…even tighter with backup in net…plus players naturally play tighter/safer with backup in net
We were 26th in the league in shots this season…. the lowest of any playoff team. Nashville is also employing a strategy that blocks a ton of shots. This shouldn’t really be a surprise.
Preds deserve serious credit for this.
