I love it, why do you leafblowers think anybody else would trade for those team breaking contracts for players who hate playing in the playoffs bcoz it is too hard and they pull up from contact all the time bcoz they are too scared to play tough? (No, the bottom teams will not trade for one either, they have small caps already and couldn't afford to spend a quarter of their cap for invisible players in the playoffs) 🤷😂

If I was GM I would attempt renegotiating core 4 contracts. If you could get 2M out of each of them that might help save complications of a rebuild. That shouldn't be out of the question. They have to know they're over paid by now and they really want to win in TO. But then again why bother tinkering at all since Leaf fans will pay the ticket price no matter what it seems.

I can't fault this scenario. Marner's a fun guy to watch, but he's a pond hockey player. Tavares is no longer value for money. Matthews is untouchable, and Nylander – despite the fact that so many people say he's a floater – is the team's best point-getter in the playoffs every year. The current Leafs braintrust has forgotten what Conn Smythe famously said long ago: "If you can't beat them in the alley, you won't beat them on the ice." I paraphrase. And replace Shanahan with someone who will instil that spirit again. If you're going to go down, go down swinging, not sniffling.

There is one reason there will be no shake up this offseason. Both have no trade no move . They totally refuse to leave. Then what do you do? Let them walk at end of next season?
I would say get rid of all the defence besides the 2 the leafs have locked up and try to bring back Edmonson I would say trade Tavares and then at the end of next season sign him to 1 or 2 year deal but I don't care for like head coach and president but they need to fix the dam power play and penalty kill and I would say get rid of deawer send Robertson and holmberg to the Marlies and sign players who don't fall apart in the playoffs and get a reliable goalie like how Jones was try to sign him again and they need to sign a good goalie good defence for ones and some good forwards
one of the core 4 needs to be moved this summer, as much as I love the guys, they haven't proven anything in 8 years. maybe if it was year 4-5 I get it, but 6-present has been groundhog day. Defense gets the most focus, goaltending would be a secondary focus.
Just one small problem, bud. They all have NMCs, and if you think any of these arrogant primadonna cream puffs is going to bend a knee to the franchise, and accept a trade elsewhere, well, you just aren't familiar with these players.
Look at what they did to this team. 55% of their salary cap, is stuck on 5 playoff ghosts. You think these guys are gonna go, "Ya, sure, I'll waive my control I have in my contract to help you guys out." ?
None of these plugs are going anywhere before their contracts expire, and that's assuming anyone would take these albatross bags of garbage. Toronto isn't exactly swimming in draft picks anymore, to sweeten any takers on these trash contracts.
