  1. VGK fan in Vegas here, I don't know if it's us but other teams have mysterious injuries as well. If you don't like it then just change the rules to have the salary cap in the playoffs, pretty simple fix. We all know Gary doesn't want that, he wants the teams to be as best as possible whether they're salary cap compliant or not. Go Knights Go!

  2. I love it. Embrace being the villain. It’s up to the CBA to close the loophole, not Vegas. The NHL would have a far bigger problem attempting to enforce a return to play policy against a medical professional’s opinion. GMs should be playing chess out there, not checkers.

  3. I find it interesting that we have to wait for the next CBA to address this but with the back diving contracts the league shut that down immediately AND changed the rules to punish the teams that had already done it. They didn't wait.

I previously said that I don't have a problem with teams putting their own players on LTIR but should not be able to acquire players who never play for them. (e.g. Brent Seabrook, Marian Gaborik). I am changing my mind on that. Sure, the league keeps an eye on these situations but the optics are not good at all.
I still think teams need to be able to replace injured players so here's some ideas:
We still allow teams to use LTIR to acquire replacement players but maybe at 50% of the LTIR players cap hit.
It's treated like a bonus overage where whatever you go over this year comes off next years available cap.
    Maybe both?

  4. This is what you get when you have a generation that believes all cops are evil. This is from the constant barrage of negative stories by the media about Cops.

I was brought up to respect Cops and you just didn’t act disrespectful in front of them. This is also a result of a generation of helicopter parents who coddled their kids. These kids have no street smarts and just cant handle a situation like this. This video is a microcosm to where our society is headed.

  5. Frank you are so full of it. Grade 3 laceration. 12-24 week recovery time. He got back early and was just now cleared. NHL chief medical officer saw all the reports. F off.

  6. Stone getting paid millions to sit at home (likely not even injured) just to be activated and cheat in the playoffs, must be nice eh?!.. and it's not just him, their roster is stacked thanks to cap circumvention.

Oh and lets not forget that it's been done two years in a row by them and Tampa before that. Both went on to win cups due to this.

If they win the cup and no change is made regarding cap circumvention next year. I may be done watching the NHL, there's no point if teams continue to cheat..

  7. LTIR is for players who are hurt long-term and can’t play. It’s a luxury for teams who need cap space after a significant injury to stay competitive. It is not for players who want to rest for the season and help their team out; yes, it is smart for Vegas to exploit this system but that’s what it is, an exploit. Vegas has every right to use this system now and fans have every right to be infuriated about it because at the end of the day it is cheating by the rules.

  8. if you want the league to adjust the rule then just have Vancouver do the same as Vegas, not only would the rule be changed, bit I'm sure the league would also hand out stiff punishment Vancouvers way

  9. you would think the league would learn from this with the ratings being down by a record 40% in last years Finals..the fans dont want teams to use legal loopholes to win cups..just make a cap in the playoffs as well to keep it fair
